Somewhere in some middle U.S. state, there is someone who is still responsible for complying with some aspect of Obamacare/ACA.

And I feel sorry for him.

But I feel more sorry for all the people whose insurance was cancelled, and they were forced to buy more epxensive insurance that provides less, and now Obama has repealed (he’s a legislator, dincha’ know?) much of the ACA, but only temporarily, on the way to a full-blown government taxpayer funding of all healthcare.

Might as well exempt them along with the thousands of businesses, unions etc that already have exemptions. Who is left? Millions who have had their policies cancelled and must sign up or be fined.

Actually, volunteer firefighters aren’t employees in any definition I have ever seen of the term, so I wonder why there was there was even a need to clarify their exclusion from Obamacare. Many municipalities do have paid firefighters who are therefore employees and, of course, would be included under the law.

Still, Agent’s comments about exemptions are worth noting. Only an administration that doesn’t respect the rule of law or the
Constitution could grant so many waivers – and most of the administration, from the top down, is comprised of lawyers!

Why does BO listen to fire dept’s and not the rest of the country? The impact is going to be similar across the nation for companies that size.

I am sad to say I had the privilege of telling a friend – I told you so. If BO says it, he listens. Now with the latest report on the health of the BO care, he’s admitting that this cool-aid was not worth drinking.

PM, I guess the Libs didn’t like my comments judging from the dislikes. They aren’t into the truth, just the agenda. How about the case of the Nuns in Baltimore being required to furnish Healthcare including Maternity, Abortion, the Pill etc. Does that make sense?

Agent. I guess we all need to form a union and advise we’ll pull our funding of BO’s (dems) campaign to be heard. Oh not heard, listened to.

I liked the part of the article that listed the kaiser group as non-partisan. If nothing else, Kaiser is as partisan as a $500 million Solindra refund will purchase. My very own integrity might waiver if BO gave me $500 mil I did not deserve.

Many for-profit and non-profit organizations have volunteers who assist them. How about if one of our “esteemed and thoughtful” legislatures had actual legislated?
What if someone pointed out that yes, exempting VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS makes sense but leaving a VOLUNTEER firefighter possibly without any health coverage when they are willing to leave their homes (at all hours of the day and night) to put out fires for COMPLETE STRANGERS, makes no sense! How about if fire departments had to register their volunteers with a state agency so if or when these firefighters were hurt fighting fires as a volunteer, WE, the taxpayer, would respond to cover them….just like our volunteer military. Since when have we Americans become such miserable people that we treat fellow Americans with such disdain? It is a sad commentary when we tell volunteer firefighters to fend for themselves!

Nan, I can tell you that, at least in my state, volunteers are covered by Workers Compensation insurance for injuries while responding to fires or other emergencies.

Nan, are you that goofy? Most all of the Volunteer Fire Dept people all have jobs in the private sector and either have coverage with their employer or they have private insurance on their own. Are you saying they should have double coverage at double the premium because they do volunteer work? When these guys get a call for a fire, they have to leave work many times to go fight it. Most of the time, they are putting out ashes since their response time is not as good as full time departments.

Volunteer firefighters are covered by WC should they be injured while in the line of duty.
