Wow Target’s already struggling competing against Wal-Mart. Any big payout may disable them completely. It’s funny all the talk about suing Target. Where are the articles about going after the theives? I’d really like to know who they are.

What planet are you on? Target isn’t struggling with anything. Who on earth would rather go to Wal Mart over Target? Disable them? Uh, Target has been profitable for years. These lawsuits will be a drop in the bucket for them… you should really check your facts before you post them…

You will never see those articles because they aren’t important in the eyes of the media – you can’t win million dollar or even billion dollar lawsuits against hackers. #what’sabitcoinworth?

As for the payout, I wouldn’t be too worried about target. The Heartland Systems breach a few years ago was bigger and they are still surviving. On top of that Target has over $100MM in cyber liability coverage as well as $60MM in D&O. At the end of the day, they are doing the right thing which is offering credit and fraud protection. It was a mistake on their end and as long as they fess up and pay for it they shouldn’t have any issues. It’s not like they intentionally gave away the data. Pay the economic loss and move on – any suits for damages beyond that are meritless.
