I honestly think the issue is the High Efficiency (HE) design where less water is being used int he system. I have a top load high end Whirlpool washer. Last year I took the entire thing apart and hauled parts to a spray wash to clean out the sludge that had built up over the last 10 years. Seriously gross stuff. Not to mention that they don’t clean worth a hoot. Wife wants to go back to our old inefficient top load cheapo unit that cleaned like a fiend, but used alot of water…go figure
Traded in a very expensive high end Whirlpool washer/dryer for some highly rated LGs. Hated not buying American but the Whirlpool didn’t clean well and the LGs are great 4 years later.
Hope that Whirlpool makes better products in the future as I like buying American
I am having trouble with a Whirpool refrigerator. Every glass tray in the fridge has cracks in the plastic surrounding the tray. Crappy fridge. I won’t buy another Whirlpool.
Mold in washers is a health issue for more sensitive people. Since we created and started selling the first washing machine deodorizer in 2005 I’ve gotten more than a few emails of rashes and respiratory problems clearing up after the washer has been cleaned.
Over $200 million a year in profit from their smelly washer cleaner is no incentive to fix a faulty design in Whirlpool HE washing machines.
