I have been told their is an exemption if your health insurance premiums would be over 8% of your income. Considering my health insurance quote would be 30% of my income… I am exempt. The reality is, anyone who make under 50K a year is likely exempt (with the average policy being over $500 per month)… and that pretty much means anyone who didn’t already have insurance

Who does the unlucky enrollees that actually paid a premium see for a refund? Will they be able to resurrect their old plans that was working for them prior to getting cancelled? Inquiring minds want to know.

There is an insurance 101 lesson here. If you expand benefits to the nth degree, prevent insurers from rating or even getting a return on their investment, the only thing that will make the new system work is to mandate coverage. Now, the Obama Administration has voided the employer mandate for firms thru 99 employees until after the mid-term elections and has rendered the individual mandate meaningless for “hardship” cases and for people below 138% of the Federal Poverty Level in states that did not expand their Medicaid program like PPACA wanted. Oh, wait…this isn’t insurance 101 class after all. It’s politics 101…give the benefits now, make them pay later after the midterms and let the whole system crash after Obama leaves office in case the GOP wins in 2016. Of course, if the new president is a D, we can just keep pumping more taxpayer dollars into it.

Why don’t they just put on big boy pants and delay the individual mandate for everyone until 1/1/2015?

These constant vague changes to a law duely passed by congress and signed by the Prez are outragous.
