Government Motors? How about Greedy Motors? Money matters so much that we can expend a dozen Americans for profit. We bailed this entity out of bankruptcy. Most of the employees were likely unaware of this issue and don’t deserve punishment. Instead of prosecuting the entire company, find the parties who knew and prosecute them for their willful misconduct.

My 2007 Chevy Uplander suddenly made a strange sound, shook very hard and the Check engine light went on. After full Tune-up, the check engine light stayed on. 3 Mechanics including Peb Boys could not repair it. The car would not pass emission test after spending a ton of money to repair it. Without passing the emission test it is only a piece of garbage that can not be used. However, It is not part of the recall.

I own a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix and U have had continuous ignition problems. My car never starts right up, you have to give it gas. It has depretiated the value of my car tremendously because no one want to buy a car with ignition problems.

How much could a 2005-2007 vehicle depreciate in the first place? Atleast half of these cars out here are Salvaged vehicles!!! I see this as nothing but another frivolous lawsuit.

The burden to undo the Bankruptcy would be substantial. Also, if the switches were installed prior to the 2009 bankruptcy, why would the “New GM” bear responsibility?

The civil cases might have merit, but the proper defendent might be the estate of the “old GM”

I own a 2005 Saturn ION. If I had known that GM was manufacturing it instead of Saturn, I would not have purchased it. My 1996 Saturn SL1 had zero problems. This one however, is a study in lemon law applicability. Since I purchased it new I have had to replace or repair; the computer module that runs the gauges and shift controls, Front struts, rear shocks, brakes and lines, clutch plate (twice-its plastic), shift rod (it bent), transmission lines, oxygen sensors, and back up light computer chip. It has had two recalls! First for a faulty Power Steering module that failed while the car was in motion and now the ignition switch. I have turned the car in to Martin Chevrolete and they can keep it as long as they want. I can’t trust it, so I refuse to drive it. As far as I’m concerned GM should give me a new car, make and model of my choice free. Their current offer of a free loaner car until mine is fixed OR a $500.00 credit toward any new GM vehicle purchase is a slap in the face. I WILL NEVER, EVER PURCHASE A GM VEHICLE AGAIN!!

I agree. I have a 2004 Saturn Ion. I just had the ignition replaced and am still having problems. Not only that, but they are recalling for the power steering now, which I have been complaining and arguing about since I purchased the car in 2008. I have already had that replaced twice. Now it keeps going out again, along with the new ignition. I’ve called, emailed, and the customer care center told me that I could go ahead and drive it. It was totally safe. I have SLE Lupus. I don’t have a lot of strength, yet GM’s telling me it’s fine to drive. I have the recording. These people need to buy back these cars, the loans on these cars, or put the owners in a safer one.

Not only do they die while driving, their theft security parts degrade preventing owners from starting their own car – death my getting mugged before you can drive away. Just see how many forums are pissed at GMs innumerable electrical issues. Oh, here’s one:

My Chevy Cobalt 2005 has lights on and will not start … I have had it looked at and they say that it is the ignition and DO NOT DRIVE IT…. I called the dealership to have the recall fixed and they said that I have to wait over 3 weeks and they will not give me a loaner…these cars are unsafe to drive … are they crazy. I asked them so in other words I have to die in order for you to fix my car…

I have a 2004 Saturn Ion that has been recalled. It is seating at the dealers waiting for the new parts to arrive. I am not confident that this new part will keep me safe. My car has stalled several times and has ongoing problems with the ignition. I am on my 3 “new” ignition.
I am not able to sell my car even with the new part installed because if I do not feel save I am not going to sell it to someone else. I am unable to drive with my grandchildren in the car as my daughter (nor I) want to take the chance of it quitting. It has quit while I was making a left turn in a high traffic area. Scarey

I had a 2007 Chevy HHR,while on my home the key shut off,I could not steer the car the brakes did not work, and when I hit some big rocks and then rolled the car the Air bags did not work,My Insurance co paid me for my car less the $500.00 deductable I had to pay,I talked to a lawyer and he said there was nothing I could do since I did not get hurt bad like the loss of an arm,or leg,or the loss of my life,so I had to settle for the payment from my Insurance co for the car.

I have a 2006 Cobalt death trap. NO the wheel didnt fall of the car and kill me when they recalled the Rocker Arm when the car just had a thousand miles on it. And no My Steering pump still worked when THEY RECALLED THAT. And I didnt even die after I had to jump back into the car to stop it from rolling over people in a parking lot BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD ROLL IN PARK… that never got recalled for that and MANY MANY OTHER COLBALT owners complained of the same thing… so I spent 400 bucks of my own money to have it fixed…. and while I was having that fixed I had to fix a bad wheel bearing that went out at 28,000 miles. And I have a recall LETTER from last year that is for the Ignition/GAS FUMES FIRE RECALL much the same kind of defect that Toyota is now recalling…. but I havent had this fixed because the recall letter says only bring the car in if you have a problem… well isnt this the same WAIT AND SEE they had with the ignition switches. I think really by the time the gas smell is noticable and and you realize the cheap plastic fitting they used on the gas tank is leaking… your car is already at risk for a fire from any source like a hot muffler or tail pipe..not just from an ignition spark… I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER GM PRODUCT EVER. BECAUSE TWO YEARS AGO I ALMOST DIED WHEN THEIR ELECTRONIC POWER ASSIST5 STEARING decided it had a mind of its own. My stearing acted LIKE I WAS ON ICE on dry pavement, when all it was asked to do was go around and pass a semi trailer on the road at a speed of 70 miles an hour… thanks to god I AM STILL HERE because I was just able to get the car back under control before it was headed under the trailer of the semi truck that I was trying to pass. I thought it was because of the POWER STEERING PUMP when they did that recall…. but NOW I REALIZE it was just as I thought BACK THEN that the ELECTRONIC POWER STEARING ASSIST WENT CRAZY AND GUESS WHAT… another recall on the POWER STEERING and its the ELECTRONIC PART OF THE SYSTEM. AND IN CLOSING I HAVE TO SAY THIS…. I did not even DIE when I hit the DEER GOING 55 MILES AND HOUR and the AIR BAGS NEVER WENT OFF AND THE CAR WAS STILL RUNNING AND THE SWITCH was in the run. I feel that to sell this car to someone else would endanger their life. WHAT ELSE is wrong with these death traps that WE NOW KNOW ABOUT… the whole care is cursed…

I have an 06 HHR, Bought it certified preowned with warranty in Feb of 2013. Has had no issues mechanically or otherwise outside of the steering wheel not locking, and the seat belt dinger doing off randomly. The car is a manual transmission and it never occurred that it was mometarily stalling when the dinger was going off, as it would just start back similar to “rolling it off” if you have a dead battery. In December of 13 I was in my first accident EVER, receiving my first ticket EVER because I rear-ended a vehicle that pulled out in front of me. No air bags deployed and my car was damaged over $2000, and there were injuries. I contacted my local dealer after hearing of this recall, and without hesitation put me in a 2014 dodge ram with 14 miles on the odometer until further notice (with no knowledge of the accident, only that it was a recalled VIN). Sounds like the dealerships are the ones that make the call on loaners… not GM.
However, my insurance rate hiked, and I was forced to pay out of pocket for the damages to my vehicle as I carry state minimum. Still awaiting my court date for the “failure to reduce speed” charge that is pending on my squeaky clean record. :(

Do you have to have been in an accident to join the class action lawsuit? My 2004 Saturn Ion has had trouble starting for years. There are times when it won’t even turn over but if I wait EXACTLY 10 minutes and try it again, it will start. However, I’ve never been in an accident due to the engine turning itself off and I consider myself very lucky. It just makes me SO ANGRY that they knew what was going on and I bought a new battery thinking that was the problem. Of course, the issue wasn’t resolved.

I have a 2005 Saturn Ion 3 and I had a wreck in it and the airbags did not deploy, The car was repaired but everyone asked me why my airbags didn’t go off. I’m a woman, I didn’t know, now I know, sadly. Is the airbag problem included along with our key ignition flaw. Carrying the one key is a pain in the rear, I have already got locked out of my car twice. GM, ugh, and the $19000.00 I paid for my car.

    To whom it may concern,
I own a Chevrolet HHR model made in 2006. I would like to be in the class action lawsuit against GM since I would never have purchased this vehicle had I known that it had these types of safety issues (not including some of the other problems which I’ve encountered). I feel that I was sold a supposedly “safe” vehicle under false pretenses which to me would constitute fraud on behalf of the manufacturer since they were aware of these problems beforehand. I have had an accident but I did not suffer injuries which required emergency medical attention (also, I’m an unemployed veteran w/o insurance), but I feel that the safety features did not function considering the extent of the vehicle damage (front and rear end). Where do I go to pursue this matter in a legal sense? I’ve not yet returned the vehicle to a dealership; I’m not sure if they’re culpable in any way for the selling of defective vehicles unless they were also made aware of the defects by GM prior to selling these vehicles without first correcting the defects mentioned in the recall notices. I have no money to devote to retaining a legal representative and I would like to know if I fall into any class action lawsuits already pending. If someone can advise me on what steps to take regarding this situation I would greatly appreciate it. I really would just like GM to purchase the vehicle back so that my fears concerning its safe operation are put to rest. They got my money in good faith and now I’d like it back and nothing more. I bought an “America made” car to help our workers stay employed and support our economy, but apparently I was made the fool! Email nestvey@outlook.com, thanks for any support that the REAL AMERICA can give me!

Hello, I have a 2008 Chev Cobalt, and my ignition has failed once already, when they replaced it they did not count it under the faulty ignition recall, they simply put another faulty ignition switch in it. It is now showing signs of failing again, but due to the lack of parts I am on a waiting list for the replacement. Not only is this disconcerting, but very time consuming and annoying. I cannot afford a new car, otherwise I would have gotten rid of it already. They treat me like I am asking for soooo much when I mentioned the recall each time I have been into the dealer. HELP!! EMAIL me please include me.

Had a 2007 Tahoe that was totaled. I was hit on the passenger rear panel and I rolled several times. There were only a few items that never looked touched; 2 rear windows, 1 tire, and the air bag. Yes, the airbag never deployed. I never understood how until I heard there were airbag issues also. Luckily I walked away with only a scratch on my arm because the seatbelt actually worked.

Had a 2003 Saturn Ion. Frequently the car would not start. After turning the key a couple of times I would have to sit in the car. The first time my husband had to drive to my work when it did not start only to arrive in twenty-five minutes later and have it start. Frequently I would find myself stranded in a mall parking lot, restaurant parking lot, or other places alone even in the winter cold. My husband also experienced this event on a couple of occasion. I am very interested in participating in this lawsuit.

I have a 2008 GMC Acadia and my car lost power while turning a corner and my RPM gage went past 4 and I felt like I couldn’t get up to speed, all the cars were honking at me. I took it to the shop and had them hook it up to the scanner and the code that came up was a transmission code of the transmission speed sensor so I had it replaced. My car ran fine for a month! Two days ago, while driving up a hill, my car started doing the same thing ALL OVER AGAIN! My RPM gage is going past 4, my car won’t get up to speed, it won’t drive at all but it turns on and revs the engine, I as in the turn lane when this happen and the car was rolling backwards as I was trying to drive forward! As I tried to make it home, I was hoping and praying I didn’t get stranded on the side of the road, I stopped at AutoZone and asked if they can hook my car to their machine because my mechanic is too far to chance driving there. The codes that come up now are P0700, P0513, P0174, P0496, P0756. All are from transmission failure. I will never purchase another GM vehicle.

Well I had a wreck! And my daughter hit her head on the dash board! The car was immediately removed!the airbags didn’t go off in the front! I’m dealing with a cover up at the car lot!, insurance co.,and GMC! Good luck on getting any help! Mean time me and my little girl haven’t been able to recover, having alot of trickle down effects from the accident! Please those of you who have recalled ignition switch cars! Do something! Be guaranteed that the airbags will not go off also!!! I wish I would have known! I didn’t have the car but a month! I just got off the phone ,said I couldn’t sue the car lot!
