I started in the insurance business in 1975. Half the underwriters were impaired after lunch. Every agent knew to call after lunch with difficult to place account to them bound. One underwriter got fired for binding a bowling alley. Impaired workers is nothing new.
Perhaps half the employees in agencies are impaired after lunch which may explain the comments of Libby, Ron, 102, Boogereater, Shirley, Planet. They certainly don’t make any sense with their rants so I would attribute it to alchohol or drugs.
Agent, you’re too dimwitted and backwards to understand our humor. And you’re too lazy to educate yourself. You make yourself look like the fool that you are when you make your inane comments. Drunk and high I’d still run circles around you.
They really need to separate the marijuana use from prescription pain killers. Until Doctors start getting sued for over prescribing painkillers that are very addictive this problem will continue to increase. And as businessowners you can only monitor so much before you let someone go for opioid use and get sued because the doctor said it was okay. I know people that abuse these and they don’t care. They go from one doctor to another and what’s amazing is the new doctor never asks for the old doctor’s name so they can request their chart.
So how is Obamacare making insurance more affordable? He has no clue on where to start. You start with healthcare and drug companies, not insurance. But then again, I’m sure the drug companies were pushing Obama to pass this so they can get more people on insurance to buy their drugs. Because we know people can get healthcare (hospital) for free, but Walgreens won’t give you a prescription for free. Thank you Obama for making an already big problem even bigger by getting more opioids into the hands of the American People.
Medical records are now going to be required to be electronic, so that doctors can have access to a person’s medical history. No more doctor shopping. No more double dipping.
In addition, the ACA has established a panel to focus on results-driven care versus fee for service care. No longer will people be allowed to go to the doctor for rx without getting any better.
The ACA has actually done some things to help reduce healthcare costs. Once costs start going down, premiums will follow.
I read an article last week about Florida clinics. They are cash only (well, don’t accept any insurance) and don’t have to have a licensed doctor. They’re called store front clinics. These will not be affected by the ACA or any legislation that doesn’t directly address their unique situation.
