Murder is a general intent crime- deaths arising from GM’s inaction is a direct, likely and probable consequence (a definition of General criminal intent) of looking the other way- let the individuals making that decision be charged for Murder instead- BK doesn’t shield them from that !

GM knows that Obama will bail them out again if they get into trouble. Producing crap autos with safety defects is another good example of union workers who could care less about customer safety. By the way, Obama fired the CEO of GM and replaced him with a non-auto guy who was there when these defects were discovered. He should go to jail.

Jack — That includes “any and all Government Officials” in failing to investigate.

The court of public opinion should convict GM of crimes against humanity. If they succeed in their efforts of protection through bankruptcy proceedings, we should boycott them until they bleed green. They knew of the liabilities out in the market that could haunt them. I doubt that there are many who believe that their intent was to protect themselves from the liabilities that they created. While this may be brilliant legal strategy, it is unconscionable. Remember how little it would have cost to repair this problem….or how much it cost not to correct the problem…13 lives.

Since the age of 17 I’ve been a Chevy fan. Now Im here unable to walk, my neck broke in 3 places, and medical bills and unable to work. To have GM treat my claim as a joke or a hurdle they must make disappear, is a shame. American company that acts like Chinese sweat shop. F U GM and you too BARRA

Rick, I am sorry for your injuries and hope you make a complete recovery. GM has been dysfunctional for many years, was about to go under when Obama did the bailout to save union jobs. They have moved much of their production to China. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were using lead paint on vehicles they produce since they had no problem using it for kids toys imported here. How many recalls have been done just in the past couple of years?
