Earth’s climate has always been dynamic only someone who ignores scientific facts could think it should be static.

As far as forecasting into the future, I wish the weather guy on TV could get tomorrow right.

Yes, our climate is dynamic but never have the dyanamics been drastically changing so rapidly. Human activity is the acceleration pedal. You can deny all you want, and most who do tend to be conservative. So, again, deny all you want but at the end of the day, aren’t you responsible for God’s great gift of Earth? Show some stewardship. Do your part!

Never in what, the past 150 years? You realize there was an extended winter that lasted years during the 15th century and caused the largest European river to freeze over, right? The arrogance of your statement “never have the dynamics been drastically changing so rapidly” is astounding.

Funny how Al Gore and his climate cronies are now multi-millionaires or billionaires after drumming up this climate debate.
Funny how they create hundreds of thousands of lbs of carbon emissions flying all around the world.

Instead of everyone fighting over “who caused this”, maybe we should be fighting over “How can we fix this?” If 6 billion+ people on the planet suddenly “went green”, would we able to reverse the trend, or at least slow it down? I don’t know, which I guess explains why I’m in insurance.

Republican or Democrat, all I know this is the only planet we have.

The fight over “who caused this” is tantamount to the question “how can we fix it”? If you fail to accept there is anything wrong with the current climate change and it is absolutely normal, then as far as you’re concerned there is nothing to be done about it.

Destro – thank you for the source. I read the entire article and do not agree it supports your statement, “The “climate change” computer models are being shown to be wrong.”

What it says is there is no clear consensus amongst scientists about the cause/effect of climate change. None dispute climate change, but most are not sure whether it is being caused by man or nature or a combination of both. They also doubt the severity of the impact of climate change.

I did not see any mention of computer models or that the scientific community disputed there was indeed climate change.

As I mentioned before, I am not sure myself what is causing climate change or whether we need to be alarmed by it’s effects as I am not a scientist. But I do agree the climate is changing.

So please don’t jump on me as some “liberal, left-wing, conspirator trying to brainwash the next generation.”

if 6+ billion people in the world suddenly “went green” then there would be mass starvation, global economies would collapse, civil unrest on a global scale would occur, crime would skyrocket to unprecedented levels. The climate has been “changing” since the beginning of time. It’s absurdly arrogant to assume that based on the past 40 years of measurements that the sky is falling.

I could most definitely list for days all the reason this is inaccurate.

Let’s first start that God did not make it a law to be charitable (taxes) and the bible specifically discounts that any giving that is forced (taxes) are not forms of giving. Yet we are called to be charitable. The government taxing system gets in the way of both free will in giving by ability (less money to give) and violation of will. Democrats go after republican wealth. The bible teaches that no man receives wealth lest god gave it to him. Even bad kings. The bible praises being poor, the democrats lament in the challenge of being poor.

The bible is sternly against abortion.

You can try to make the argument of the poor being helped by the democrats (which is not true as is) but even if it were, almost 60 million children have been aborted since 1973. That is almost one third of the entire U.S. population. At most our poverty level on an average basis is 15%.

          http://www.lifenews.com/2014/01/12/56662169-abortions-in-america-since-roe-vs-wade-in-1973/

God says a person living in poverty is worth more than a rich man, yet democrats put the life of poverty and or challenge as a reason to abort a human being, which was created by god, and by extension go against god’s will for that child to be born, objecting god’s will in place of their own.

Republicans are more charitable in both time and money than democrats.

          http://www.ethicsdaily.com/republican-states-give-more-to-charity-than-democratic-states-cms-19923

Note also this shows religion is the factor, so it would be good to stop insulting religion. So if we are going by the amount of charitable nature, again, god wouldn’t be a democrat.

Libby, I think starting with religion, is better than starting with the government.

I would encourage you to look into the people who made the bible and what they thought. The ones who came directly after Jesus. They have writings that are not in the bible. They have continued since then.

          http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/12272b.htm

You by default have to believe that if any of the bible is true, these guys are the ones who passed it on. You can’t pick and choose on the bible. And these guys, google each one. You will find that they definitively argued and spoke about the message they received. Note how many catholic popes were killed until Constantine in around 400 A.D. These men who were killed all the time weren’t just dying for no reason. See pope clement. Had an anchor tied to his neck and was tossed to the bottom of the ocean. These things were documented. Some say that Rome made Catholicism. Some try to dismiss sections of the bible because they don’t know what I put above. Some do it in the name of government (hint hint, you) while they don’t believe at all in their god.

          Religion first. Then government.

          By the by:

The government does all that they can to impede religion.

Are you aware that a church cannot even say which candidates are following their religion?

So you can live a life of religion.

You just can’t lead your followers and even tell them if they are following it.

Have you ever wondered, or thought, about why?

Obviously this is intentional to disjoint the people, and force the government in place.

          Which party is forcing this?

Do republicans do anti religious battles?

Do they make a fight of birth control, and use that to complain about the affects of religion?

How dare you say what religion God would be, with all that you assault anyone who talks about his word (abortions etc).

            which *party god would be.

Libertarians tend to be against certain aspects of religion as well.

            Another correction:

It’s actually currently 24% of the population is being aborted in the U.S. not one third.

And near to 60 million is not one third of the population.

24% is based on some of the lower recent years.

I’m balancing and writing about far too many numbers.

The point still stands that the government in democrats tries to put god on a side burner, and to worry about welfare. It is exactly the problem. These days someone says “I pay my taxes and vote democrat”

It is not even close to an act of virtue to vote democrat (mostly other people’s money being given) in order to be charitable.

This is part of the reason that republicans give more:

They fundamentally believe in personal giving over governmental giving.

This also forces responsibility. If you have to receive charity, from a charitable person, you are accountable and would listen to them as a friend.

If you get it from a government, you aren’t. You keep getting it no obligation, no responsibility, and the relationship would be strictly your benefit and non-personal. And we wonder why society is just these bunch of hermits taking only for themselves? If I fill out a form for assistance, I’m not going to take it nearly as seriously as going to my local church and asking the members for help. Knowing each of them are sacrificing for me no less. It’s the perfect family.

The argument over causation or impact is irrelevant. Assuming that mankind’s influence is both significant and reversible, any impact generated by extreme efforts in N. America and Europe will be heavily offset by negative impact from Asian countries.

Without China and India on-board, the only significant impact that can result is the devastation of the economy in the West.

When even a country like China is beginning to acknowledge the human factors contributing to Climate Change, you begin to wonder if most in America are really living in denial? Or maybe it’s the Koch Bros.’s $$ drowning out the message with noise.

And as far as $$ controlling politics, if you have seen the contribution comparison in federal elections they almost always skew towards democrats as far as the major campaign contributors( (i.e. banks, insurance companies, etc). But sure, stick to the whole “Republicans are stealing elections” schtick.

The top 10 donors from 1989 to 2004 have a combined total contribution of almost $283M.

The projected budget for Americans for Prosperity would be unprecedented for a private political group in a midterm, and would likely rival even the spending of the Republican and Democratic parties’ congressional campaign arms.

It is easy to see whom Republican candidates are going to be loyal to, when the Kochs are outspending the Republican Party.

If this is scientific, would they not be able to figure things out? Like maybe how to control the weather??? Stop the warming? Reverse the trend?

Science can only track mother nature. She will do what ever she wants when ever she wants for what ever reason she wants and no human can stop her. If you cant acknowledge that, then you are more arrogant then politicians from IL.

First of all, I am not arguing for or against an extreme result from the climate change that, we all agree, is occuring. But this article really doesn’t support the following assertions”

      1. There is no global warming
      2. If ther is global warming, it is not caused by man
      3. Any result of global warming will or will not be catastrophic

It merely discusses the Himalayan glaciers.

I know I will get thumbed down, but really, if you’re going to cite a source make sure it is pertinent to the subject at hand.

I just heard on the news today that the WH has installed solar panels that will generate enough electricity to run – wait for it – 6 light bulbs. I did not hear of the cost to the tax payers on what the installation cost was I bet it was a doozy.

Since when did climate change believers decide to steal a play out of the bible book thumpers playbook? “if you can’t prove it doesn’t exist then it must exist!”

Somewhat ironic considering most don’t fall into both categories.

No not at all. I should have been clearer in that post that I am referring to the effect of humans on climate not that it is changing at all.

I have done my research and I am slightly torn on the subject. I would call myself a skeptic though, as I tend to believe that the changes we experience are almost completely natural. So will it be a problem? Maybe, in the very distant future. So the idea that making vast sweeping legislation right now is the solution is ludicrous to me. That will only hurt the economy and the poor. Also if and when this does become a problem I am sure the people of that time will find it amusing and cute that we tried to solve this problem with our inferior technology and data.

I very much doubt that considering the mildness of the warming we have actually experiences since the 80’s when Dr. James Hansen started the this with his predictions. To even say it’s own the low end of his predications is slightly incorrect as it is even slightly under that.

But even if you are right that we should do something now a better solution than cutting emission because of a over exaggerated greenhouse gas effect (not to mention the destruction and death it would cause) would be ego-engineering. But that is not a big government or central power plan so statist aren’t interested in that. Which really shows the true motivations behind this.

“The new solar array, not seen since the Jimmy Carter Administration, and later, George W. Bush (who used it to power a maintenance building and heat some pool water), will be able to power 22 100-watt bulbs for 20 hours (unless it rains, snows, or is a cloudy day), far less than his two predecessors.” Again, I would LOVE to know what this cost the taxpayers be it 6 or 20 bulbs.

And the article says they aren’t releasing costs for security purposes. Did Dubya release the cost of his solar panels?

Either way, I can all but guarantee each light bulb probably has a “cost” of $6,000. like the $10,000 screwdrivers and $115,000 toilet seat during Clinton. This is what happens when you expand and centralize a government though. Basically just bad or unaccountable accounting so people can embezzle money.

Yes, I did have the bulb count wrong and this might come as a total shock but I don’t always thumb down your remarks. There have been a few times, and I do mean far and few between, but there have been times when I actually have agreed with you on a few of your posts. Yes, security purposes. I wonder if the Obama’s have a friend who works for the solar panel company as they did with the Healthcare.gov website. It would not surprise me in the least.
