Any one have an idea if the report mentions Bush causing climate change? Or if they have found the Weather Control machine that caused Hurricane Katrina?

I understand it’s difficult for you. A respected leader in your very conservative industry siding on the side of science. But come on wackos….Empoftheearth made it in. Where are the rest of you?

It’s not so much that they’re siding on the side of science so much as they are taking advantage of the money involved with it.

the one thing that effects natural disasters is the population. There more people in the world and when a natural disaster occurs, it’s affecting more people. The population of the world is exploding and more people are building in zones where they know storms/floods are going to hit. The illusions our gov. gives that they will “take care of it” aka the flood insurance and the declaring a disaster area, is making people feel secure in building in these areas. Everytime we cut trees and pave a new parking lot for a shopping center, the black top soaks up the sun and makes more heat. That’s the biggest way we get climate change.
as we expand the population and build more businesses and shopping centers, we take up what was once natural green space. Our plating some trees around the parking lot won’t offset the fact that we cleared more earth which naturally soaks up sun less than the parking lot. That is a fact of population growth. China is the worse polluter on the planet and it because they have over 1 billion people they are trying to provide a living for.

The climate of the planet has been changing since the Earth was formed and the climate will continue to change. Nothing we do – from recyling to using electric vehicles to eating food grown locally – will change the frequency and severity of climate change. What humans must do is adapt. What humans should not do is to blame any one or more industries for causing climate change.

The article is correct that since 1970 that the Atlantic tropical cyclone frequency has increased…however that is cherry picking data from the abnormally cold 1970s through the above average temperatures of the late 1990’s/early 2000s.

    See: http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/science/indicators/weather-climate/cyclones.html

Even the EPA climate data and associated talking points declares no identifiable trend of North Atlantic tropical storms since the 1870s, with appearances of similar cyclical peaks and tough periods. The insurance industry must take these variables in mind when pricing, ensuring appropriate premium for the potential risk. However the use of the 1970-2013 data is not demonstrative of a certain and continued increase in frequency and severity of storms.

Over the years, I’ve learned one thing. If there’s science that can be used to not pay claims, Lloyds will “Jump on board”!
