I hate to tell you this Celtica, but March Madness pertains to basketball, not football. Do you think Football doesn’t rake in billions over time with attendance, TV revenue. Don’t worry, there will be plenty of lawsuits filed. Lawyers love this case for the colleges and pros.
The NFL must pay $765 million without medical caps and the NCAA pays $70 million with more affected young people. There are far more NCAA Football players than NFL players. Considering the money that the NCAA makes off of these players, this seems miniscule.
If the NCAA has identified football as a common source of concussion injuries, why don’t they simply ban the sport?
If NCAA schools continue the sport, knowing the injury frequency and severity, why should the long term legal consequences differ from that of the industries who continued to use asbestos after being made aware of its health issues?
After the billions raked in from March Madness over the decades alone, this is a pittance into the true cost of these concussions. Madness indeed.
