Only 4 hospitals out of thousands with top level bio containment facilities? How does this square with the CDC director saying all hospitals are equipped to handle Ebola?

Now the administration will have an emergency meeting AFTER the CDC is caught lying and Hospital Officials are clueless.
This is Obama’s Hurricane Katrina. Everyone blamed GWB on that diaster, now Obama feels the rath of this mess. Unfortunately, this mess is far more deadly to everyone.

Yes, they are going to rename the CDC as the Center for Disease Redistribution.

Well we will soon see if Dr. Frieden is right on the “expert team” concept. A second Nurse has contracted the disease and she was under surveillance by the CDC. Oh by the way, she flew back to Dallas from Ohio. Um how did she get to Ohio if she was under surveillance?

draetish, I am not sure surveillance is the proper term. I have heard monitoring a lot, but that may be her taking her own temperature periodically. I am not sure it was wise on her part to travel to Cleveland and back after she had been treating an Ebola patient. Maybe that is where the lack of training has come in with healthcare workers. When you have those on the left saying it is not that easy to transmit Ebola, people may have relaxed too much. It is obviously a very dangerous infectious disease.

whatever term you want to use is fine with me, but it’s all the same. As long as everyone at that hospital has freedom go all over the place, it’s only a matter of time before we see it in other states.

draetish, it came out this morning that the nurse contacted CDC and asked if it was ok to travel if she had no symptoms. They gave her the go ahead. She started running low grade fever on the way back home. By the way, the Nurses Association said there are no protocols for treating this even though the government says there are. Let’s see if they publish the mystery protocols. OSHA, the dysfunctional government entity charged with workplace safety has nothing in place. They are just a bunch of dumb bureaucrats as usual.

So draetish, I saw the story today that Nancy Snyderman, chief medical correspondent of NBC and a doctor violated her quarantine after her cameraman was directly exposed while in Africa. They went out for take out after pledging to honor the quarantine. How stupid of her, a medical professional to do this. Perhaps her credibility is now in question.

Aren’t you relieved to know we have a leftist lawyer who worked for Biden and Gore as our new Ebola Czar? Maybe he was the expert that Frieden was talking about to head up the team.

So, safe to say with all the failures of the Texas hospital, they are now not only the Middle East of the United States, Texas is also the West Africa of the US. Director of that hospital allowed their nurse to fly because, “…the CDC didn’t say not to let her fly.” Self-regulation failing again. Excuse me, director, how much common sense does it take to tell all members of your ebola team to not publicly travel, or travel at all? I understand this hospital is a victim of vulture capitalism. Time to make health care not-for-profit and perhaps this unfortunate and devastating disease will finally get that through crumudgeon heads. There shouldn’t be a profit motive between a person and her well-being. Oh, the humanity! Jesus didn’t charge to cure people. And, he even cured those who didn’t have insurance or a green card.

      Captain:

5 other Ebola patients were transported to the U.S. for treatment and there was not transmission of the disease. Only in Texico where they did not have adequate equipment or training did the 2 healthcare workers contract the disease. And they have the nerve to blame the CDC. Ballsy.

I can’t help it that I am bored silly here at this desk all day. They can’t give me enough work to keep me busy. So I do research and blog. On an insurance site. So what? Jealous you can’t be as brilliant as the irrepressible Libby?

One thing you are wrong about Libby is the droplets airborne from sneezing that get on the skin or in the eyes, nose etc can transmit the disease. That is why they are ordering full suits with no skin exposed.
