Not sure how Far left socially, but fiscally responsible works but whatever – you’re an Irish Spring girl!

Now, about this statement you made: Hurt the very people you swore an oath to protect and serve. I’ll ask:

Who swore an oath to protect the 2 cops in California killed by a twice deported illegal?

Who swore an oath to protect the kids who died from the Enterovirus carried north by a horde of illegal kids?

Who swore an oath to protect the 4 dead Americans killed in Benghazi, Libya?

Actually Skeptical, Libby has tried that fiscally responsible but socially liberal gig out several times. Social programs tend to cost money so it is pretty much impossible to be fiscally responsible by loading up society with entitlements and in particular, Obamacare which she has been for and defending since it was passed. Obama clearly didn’t mean it when he took the oath of office. Has he protected America by closing down the borders in the southern states from all the thugs, drug smugglers, human traffickers or God forbid, Muslim Terrorists? We can’t even get our Marine out of Mexico who has been rotting for months. What is that all about?

The two are NOT mutually exclusive. I’m not for ALL “entitlement” programs. If Congress were more fiscally responsible and didn’t waste money on all their pork, we’d have plenty of money to spend on some social programs. It’s a matter of priority. I’d rather cut spending in other areas, tighten our belt in many areas, and be able to provide healthcare to our citizens. It’s no different than my personal budget. If I want a new pair of shoes (entitlement) I need to cut in another area (go out to eat less.) I don’t go buy the shoes with money I don’t have AND go out to eat. That’s called being finacially responsible. Prioritize where the money goes – not try to get more money from the tax payers. Not sure why you guys can’t grasp that.

Being pro-choice isn’t about spending more money. Being for gay marriage isn’t about spending more money. Being for equality isn’t about spending more money. Those are things that make me socially liberal, though.

Having the number of children one can afford to have is also being fiscally responsible too, Libby. However you don’t see that with the entitlement crowd. Each new child brings in more money and these people know how to “work” the system. Free housing, free schooling, free food and free healthcare. And these people seem to have an attitude for the working class because we have nicer homes, nicer cars and so on. However, none of these entitlements are free because we the taxpayers are paying for all of them. And yes, our government waists a huge amount of money on ridiculous studies such as how fast a shrimp and run on a treadmill. I sometime wonder if they just make up these so called studies just to keep themselves employed. And, who cares if someone is gay? I certainly don’t unless someone is trying to force their lifestyle, religion or what have you on me – then I’ll mind. Things aren’t looking so good for the Dems in the polls lately. Gee I wonder why? Obama doesn’t have a clue when it comes to defending this country. His “if we play nice they’ll play nice” notion was a disaster. ISIS was never a junior varsity organization but he was too inexperienced to know that. We’ve got terrorists coming across our borders and it won’t be long for something disastrous happens in one of our major cites. All I can say is: worst president ever.

I don’t know what happens in the polls, as I don’t follow them. I have said I am voting all incumbents out, since they have not done a damn thing in Congress. In fact, the most productive administrations are when Congress has a majority and the President is from the other party. I have no problem seeing what Republicans can do in Congress. Just as long as something gets done.

This is all about agenda and Ezekiel Emanuel, the main architect said the end goal was single payer which Libby, Planet & Ron wanted all along after Obamacare failed. So Libby, I have been saving a question for you to see how you will answer. Since you are for all the gay rights etc., what do you think about the gay female mayor of Houston who subpoenaed the sermons of the pastors of many churches there because they objected to communal bathrooms. It is interesting that she received over 1,000 Bibles and Sermons from pastor’s all over the country and she had to back off. This is just an example of bad Progressive governance from a gay who thought she could impose her agenda on the populace. I think the next step is to recall her. They can’t do it fast enough.

“Critics predicted the law would result in soaring insurance premiums and national health-care spending. So far, that hasn’t happened.” And it hasn’t happened “yet” because those of us that are now loosing the plans we’ve had in place that are now being cancelled do not know what are premiums are going to be until November 15th – Open Enrollment. Humana has sent our 70,000 cancelation letters and I am a recipient of such a letter and I’m very sure that my premium will do just that – soar.

I am all for everyone having health insurance. I just don’t agree that I should have to pay for maternity, pediatric dental, and what ever else a woman of 57 doesn’t need on her health insurance so someone else could have it but the money has to come from someplace. A great distribution of wealth only I’m not wealthy.

If you do not have those coverages on your policy, what happens to the premiums to those for whom those coverages may apply? What happens to your premiums if younger people do not want to pay for coverage that applies more to those 50 plus?

If you want insurance companies to start charging by age, you will not be happy.

Well FFA, it seems that at a public library in Schaumberg, a Republican candidate went in to early vote. The touch screen machine changed his vote from Republican to Democrat. Oops! They blamed it on a “Calibration” problem when it was brought to the attention of the officials. It was more like “Collaberation” to me. It also happened in Maryland which is also liberal. SEIU must be in charge of the voting machines again. Got to keep that power, right? Stealing elections is the forte’ of Democrats. No matter how bad they are, they stay in office in some places.

No Stan. I am not on Medicaid. BCBS Gold 1000 Ded plan. $1177 @ month.

My Parents got ripped off ($1.3 mil gone)and they have nothing left. They are going to leave bad debt totaling over $600,000. My dad can barely lift a fork to his mouth. Medicaid wants $110,000 in personal asset contribution and the nursing home wants over $20K of “missing income” or evection in going to happen.
Had you been following, you would have know all that. Part of the stressors weighing me down. The end is near for their stay in the nursing home – some sort of hearing on Nov 7th – and looking like they will be moving in with me. Unless something like a miracle happens. I have provided them with numerous documents to show they got taken.. Now, we are playing the waiting game. Filed the original application in March, 2013. That’s how long this has been going on.

If you missed it, I was in court today – final appearance – taking custody of my three grand children. I’m 52 and raising three kids – I have seven people crammed into my 1200 sq ft house – with my dad – almost 100% disabled and my mom with her dementia moving in. That makes 9 people in my tiny little house with only me working.

No one has given me a dime… Its all on me right now.

So Stan, stop jumping to conclusions….

Libby, I was on a cafeteria plan for a long time when I worked for large corporations. My deductibles were next to nothing $250 and I think some were even lower maybe $150. As times went on those deductibles kept going up as well. I think the last one I had when I worked for Grainger was $500 still not bad. Each year we’d have open enrollment and you had to choose which plan you wanted when you could choose to have maternity or not. Now that I’m working for a small insurance agency it’s $5000 with a $2000 co-insurance. Cafeteria plans were out there but they are now a thing of the past. I’m not looking forward to open enrollment this year at all.

          FFA,

There is the compassion from the right. Let’s increase the premiums on younger people who are just starting careers and families, looking to buy a home and live the American dream. Anything to make it harder on them so your life is easier.

If you had health insurance when you were younger, and starting your family, there was someone older who was paying premiums to help cover the costs of your children being born. So, you were happy to benefit from it then, but not willing to help the next generation. Nice.

I have been paying for my own health insurance for over 20 years and have never been presented a plan from my employer where I could pick and choose what coverages I wanted. What is different now?

Ron, as usual, your liberal Independent mind is spinning. Back when insurance rating was insurance rating, young people paid a lower rate based on age and older people paid a higher premium on their age group because they had more medical conditions. Now, your hero Obama thinks younger people should pay more, hence the pending 78% rate increase looming on the near horizon. What choices are presented by Obamacare that benefit anyone? High deductibles or higher deductibles, high out of pocket or higher out of pocket? Young man, you say you don’t need Birth Control pills or abortion coverage? Too bad, you must have it in our plans. Back when insurance underwriting was done, any consumer could pick from a number of plans on what they could afford, deductibles, co-pays etc. It is too bad your employer didn’t have some kind of cafeteria plan where you could pick what you wanted and could afford. Your employer must be poor since you have to pay for your own coverage. Most employers who offer coverage pick up most if not all the employee cost and only charge if there is a wife or family to cover.

Once again, Agent spouts off without knowing WTF he’s talking about. I’ve been working in insurance since I was 21. I NEVER had an employer offer me a “cafeteria” plan where I could pick and choose what coverage I wanted. It was here it is, take it or leave it. Considering you’ve worked at ONE agency your whole career, you really don’t have any idea what goes on in the “real” world. It’s young people that are having babies, Agent. Who do you think picks up the costs for that? The older employees in the group. It’s always been that way and it’s still that way. Quit your bellyaching about all things NOT republican.

Ron, There is no way my life is easy. It is in fact much harder due to the generation of entitlement.

I have also been paying for my own premiums much longer then you have. Never had a cafeteria option – only High or Low coverage when I was captive. Re: health insurance, its always been the young subsidizing the old. I dont know how many years I paid premiums with out going to the doc for so much as a cold / flu back when I was invincible. Its a safe bet that is your history too.

None the less, I just want to know once and for all which direction this is going so I can game plan accordingly. DC keeping things in limbo just not cutting it for me. The law is the law. I cant go into court and tell the judge “I was only intending on doing the speed limit”.

Hey Always, did you see the article on Obamacare price increases reported on Washington Times news article on Wednesday. They took it from Healthpocket. Premiums due to rise 78% on the key demographic of young men. I am sure they will be thrilled over this development after being lied to for three years. Other age groups also getting huge increases which will be manifested after 11-15. Huge increases will be manifested, no doubt and soon. By the way Libby & Ron, your comments were already hidden before I logged onto this article so you are unpopular on this forum.

Everyone knows that Obama was telling the truth that the “Affordable Care Act aka Obamacare would reduce costs to the consumer and would save the average family $2,500 per year. I hope this story gets a lot of traction before next Tuesday. Let’s see, if enrollees took the high deductible plans, high out of pocket and then still get huge rate increases, how is that reducing cost?

Libby has been a champion for the law and vehemently attacked anyone who disagreed and called us every name in the book including moron and stupid. You two don’t like the chickens coming home to roost, do you? Doing this law was patently worse than doing nothing. It was poorly designed, written and was a massive redistribution of wealth scheme by the Progressive element in the government and then rammed through with not one bi-partisan vote. Any law passed with no bi-partisan support cannot be a good thing for America.

Pointing out the flaw in someone else’s position on a topic does not automatically mean I am all for the alternative. Can you find one post of mine where I actually advocated for the PPACA as a law?

I will not speak for Libby, but my comprehension of her posts have been that she does not like the law in its entirety, but believes it is a step in the right direction to reform health care and has helped millions of people. And, like me, she is a proponent of universal health care, or at least a public option. None of which coukld be said of the PPACA.

My primary care doctor recently complained to me that “it’s unfair that the gov’t sets his rate of pay” because 80% of his patients are on Medicare (no surprise in SW Fla). He’s a one doctor office. About two months later he called me for insurance quotes because he was being cancelled by his homeowner company. He sent me over his insurance policies – 1 primary house on water, 1 beachfront condo, 2 rental houses, 1 35′ boat, and 2 Lexus’. He then called me back to tell me he forgot to send over the policy he had for his wife’s jewelry valued at $235k. It’s a screwed up system with someone skimming money at every level. There is no way a middle class family can afford healthcare coverage without a tax break or subsidy. And for those people that think differently, you’re either ignorant or lack compassion.

By the way, most of the state exchanges had severe trouble after getting millions to set them up. Oregon never wrote one policy with theirs and it went back to the troubled Healthcare.gov.

Then, they were forcibly marched from the east coast to Oklahoma Territory on the trail of tears. That is a sad history to the treatment of Indians back then. I will tell you that the next two years under Republican leadership in the House and Senate may be better because bills to help the nation will be debated and voted on and passed and Obama has the choice to sign them or veto them. Harry Reid has let nothing through so Obama has been shielded from using that pen. He would rather use it to implement his agenda.

Thanks Freedom… Always helps when you know your doing the right thing and have support of people I don’t even know…
I am looking forward to putting 2014 in the rear view mirror…

Seems I cant get Fantasy Football down either. Played Brady over Big Ben. Played Seatle D over Miami D. Pick up two free agents due to injuries and by week and played the wrong one last night. Got a 30 point lead gong into tonight and he has three going… Maybe I can hang on…

FFA, I picked up the paper this morning and on the sports page, the headline was Manning outduels Brady, Patriots win. It was AP. I thought, hmm. It seems to me the Patriots won by three touchdowns, Brady threw 4 touchdown passes to two by Manning. Yes, Manning had a lot of yards between the 20’s, but the vaunted Bronco defense had no answer for Brady and the game wasn’t that close in the end.

Manning is quoted as saying “I stunk.” He totally admits he was terrible yesterday. We’d better not have any more days like that, Peyton!

I seen Paytons comments. Pretty much summed up his day. At this moment I would argue Bradys is the best in the biz. Possibly the best ever. Manning just cant seem to win the big dance (except against the Bears). In the end, it will be decided by the hardware on their fingers.

But who sits Brady for Big Ben???

FFA, do you remember 4 or 5 games ago, Belichek was very unhappy with the offense of the Patriots and intimated Brady might be on the way out? Maybe that was a motivator, because Brady has been close to perfect ever since. Of course, it helps to have an offensive line that holds up better and to get your all world tight end back in the line up. Grankowski is an animal and he showed it against the Broncos. Perhaps the AFC title game will be in Foxboro this year instead of Denver. Not good news for Manning.

Libby, I hardly think passing for over 400 yards is stinking it up. The defense is what stunk. Brady had his way with them.

I think bot Defenses were terrible yesterday (Pats & Broncos). Allowing the QB to throw like they did… The Bears had the Brady experience the week after Belicheck called him out. Made the Bears look like a Pop Warner team.

In the best that ever was chat, rings need to be considered.

No, I didn’t…. What are the odds Big Ben will out duel Brady three week in a row??? I have not given up on Manning, but when it come to the best that ever was and he has only one ring….. Joe Montana comes to mind… Steve Young. Don’t Eli have more rings then Peyton?

Too worn down today Libby. I sat Big Ben for Brady. I sat Miami Defense who pitched a shut out in favor of Seatle. They did very well, nut didn’t throw the shut out. They did get the pick 6. I sat Bens rookie receiver in favor of Folles rookie running back. All three wrong decision. Up by 30. He has Eli & his TE & the TE in INdy going…

        FFA,

QBs do not win Super Bowls, teams do. If your logic was correct, then Eli would be better than Peyton and Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, Doug Williams and Jeff Hostetler must all have been better than Dan Marino, Jim Kelly, Warren Moon, and Fran Tarkenton.

My debate I was trying to make was between Peyton and Brady. After watching Luck last night, time to start the comparisons between he and some of the greats.

On a side note, why did Cleveland draft Manziel so high? Hoyer seems to be getting job done and they are paying too much for someone to carry a clip board.

I did over come my bone head moves on the roster. Had to wait till the very last minute. If Indy didn’t challenge that spot late in the game Eli may have got the additional yardage points and beat me.

It isn’t going to be repealed, but there could be some bills passed to amend some of the worst parts and the multitude of taxes in it, ie Medical Devices tax. Perhaps something can be done with the mandates and give people a choice instead of ramming it down the throat of people.
