As reported on Fox News Business, this breach was far worse than first reported. Insurance may not cover what was lost.

Our legal system seems to ignore that it is Home Depot and Target who are the actual victims of this crime. I am not against legal recourse, but it should be directed to the perpetrators who illegally stole the data.

The best remedy for retailers would be to cease taking credit and debit payments and require CASH. Sure, this would require some cash handling and banking expenses, but it would put a stop to this senseless litigation.
