The survey wasn’t bad, but it didn’t have many places to share anything with opinions. It was mainly checking boxes or indicating interest by rating the questions.

I agree Agent. I guess the creator of the survey did not care about agent’s opinions.

14, I don’t think they really want to know agent’s opinions about much. Companies think it is a great idea to download policies to an agent to be more “green”. What is hidden is that their printing costs and mailing expense goes down and the agent’s have to absorb the costs without any additional remuneration in commission or added bonus for doing it.

Printing and mailing? Have you considered an e-sign solution? Seems that many agencies are seeing great results, and less time chasing down/following up to get signatures on pieces of paper.

You are talking about two different things. We are fully automated on Personal Lines, doing e-signings, getting policies downloaded. I am talking about Commercial Lines and policies are far more complex. Commercial customers expect actual policies, many of which are thick with several coverages included. The printing expense is very significant at 1.5 cents per page.

How was Bystander supposed to know you were talking about both Personal and Commercial lines when you didn’t say so? Give him a break – you were talking about 2 different things and you didn’t explain it at all in your post. That’s not his fault.

Why can’t e-sign be done on a Commercial account if the signature is made by someone who has authority to conduct business on behalf of the company?

Paperless is the wave of the future. Most people pay bills online, including bills for their business. Why can’t you get them a policy electronically? Email it to them, you don’t have to print 200 pages and deliver it to your customer, that is such an old school mentality. We’re in 2015 and this is also an environmentally responsible thing to do

Hey Give, I just explained it to him. Apparently, you didn’t get the message. By the way, most Commercial Accounts like to see an actual policy, not some e-sign which would make no sense to them. If we need apps signed, we get them signed, get it?

CA’s want to see the policy and not some e-sign? That makes no sense. Email the policy as a PDF, let them view it electronically or they can print a copy, then ask them to reply with an e-sign to bind coverage.

E-sign has no bearing on if they can or can’t see the actual policy. It only deals with using an electronic signature on the “sign here” part instead of using a pen-and-ink signature.

Apparently you didn’t get the message about what e-sign really is.

Hey Give, have you heard that we have a “hacker” problem in this country? Large, medium and small accounts have had their computers hacked for info on the business. My customers still want the actual policies, not what is displayed on a computer screen. We keep ours in our system, but not them.

you’re worried about a hacker problem?? really? what if a hacker hacked the system of the insurance company? Come one, just admit that you are reluctant to change. You’re probably 70+ years old and don’t get that we are moving away from a paper filled world, paperless is how more and more are going and will end up going.

Apparently, you didn’t hear about Anthem Blue Cross being hacked for millions of personal records. We get messages from our carriers who are really worried about the hacker issue and they are constantly upgrading, changing access, passwords etc ad nauseum. It is quite an issue now. Wise up!

Oooh, what a big man you are by insulting me instead of talking about what e-sign really is and the real issue of internet hacking in today’s world. I’d much rather moveon from this conversation and be done with your feeble mind.

Give me, please don’t let the door hit you on the way out of this blog. You could only be an employee instead of a real agent. You guys are all alike.

Yup, you got me Agent. I’m an employee…of an agency and I hold an agent’s license too. I guess I can’t be an agent and an employee at the same time in your warped world. You’re absurd.

          Agent,

For someone who brags about how successful you are, you sure complain a lot.

If your customers still want actual policies, fine. That means you just have another cost of doing business. If it is too costly or burdensome, sell you agency and go play golf.

How often have you heard me complain about my job? It is not perfect by any means, but I appreciate what I have. Yoyu could use a little humility and show some gratitude for what you have instead of complaining about your “problems”.
