Per a recent news release from the IIHS, they recommend placing a plastic or plastic-coated tag with your name and address inside of each tire, between the tire and the wheel rim.
In this manner, the authorities will have a significantly easier time identifying the original owner of the stolen tire and wheel set.
Right..because plastic can’t be damaged, scraped off or burned. If people are able to remove VIN #’s from cars and motorcycles, I’m pretty sure removing a plastic name plates would be no prob.
1)Reality: How & when do you propose to get the plastic tags in the wheel?
2)Just: Wouldn’t the tire need to be removed from the rim in order to find & destroy the tag?

1) Before you put the tire on the rim
2) After you take the tire off the rim
3) Tires come off of rims
