Mulligan, Marshall Receive AAMGA Recognitions

July 10, 2015

Two long-time members of American Association of Managing General Agents (AAMGA) were recognized with service-based awards at the association’s Annual Meeting in Maryland in May.

Thomas Mulligan, a board member of Western World Insurance and the company’s former president from 2010 to January 2015, received the Vincent Donahue Lifetime Achievement Award. This award is the highest individual honor AAMGA bestows, and it is given at the sole discretion of the AAMGA president. In the association’s nearly 90-year history, this award has only been given 10 times. Mulligan became an officer with Western World on his election as assistant treasurer in 1983 having joined the company in 1981.

“Tom Mulligan has been and continues to be a great friend to AAMGA, and a remarkable resource for the wholesale insurance profession,” said Matt Letson, immediate past president of AAMGA, who presented the award. “No one deserves this award more, and we’re sincerely grateful to Tom for his countless contributions to our industry and association. He has been the definition of professional integrity, and integrally involved in regulatory issues that have allowed the wholesale marketplace succeed. He continues to raise the standards of what it means to be an insurance professional across our industry.”

Senior vice president of AmWINS Access Insurance Services, Rosemarie Marshall, was also honored with the Earle Dillard Award, recognizing the contributions of each year’s top AAMGA committee chair. Marshall has been with AmWINS for approximately 16 years, and has long been involved with and chaired AAMGA’s Education Committee. Marshall previously served as a long-time board member and president of the Texas Surplus Lines Association.

“As has long been our tradition, AAMGA is at its best when intelligent, successful and dedicated professionals step up to help shape the services and benefits of our association. There are few better embodiments of this tradition than Rosemarie,” said AAMGA current president, Roger Ware of Genesee General in Alpharetta, Ga. “She has been tireless in her dedication to furthering AAMGA’s educational offerings, and we are honored and privileged to have her as a member of AAMGA.”
