An interesting move that is not likely to be received well by the agent community. I guess when it comes to the value-add proposition made by agents, commercial clients will soon be able to vote with their dollars. And while this distribution method will draw its fair share of business, let’s see what happens when the coverage disputes and denied claims start to pile up.

We are beginning to see the bad Yelp reviews of the Google Compare Shopping Site on the Web that partnered with Coverhound here in California. You can’t hire newly licensed agents and expect great results. They need extensive training with all those insurance companies they represent and a move into the commercial platform will be even more difficult. Absolute low retention and loss to the consumer.
