How can California possibly have an A grade? I have lived in Ca for 20 years, and they aren’t prepared for 2 inches of rain.

The Progressive Democrats say they are. That is all they need for an “A” grade.

Less rain with warm weather for one thing. I know you probably haven’t read about the drought they had recently. They are also making big gains in renewable energy, have actual disaster preparedness plans, etc.

Texas is prepared…if you don’t believe in something then it can’t be real. Since the population has been taught that science is a fraud and everything is fine as long as you keep buying stuff and filling all the land fills. Oh and the Gulf, it’s ok, people are making money and it will trickle down so who cares if it’ll be dead as a result. Not us, we don’t believe in that.

Let’s see if I understand. California, the land of fruits and nuts wants to lecture about how prepared they are for weather or any natural disaster. They can’t even manage their water and will protect a smelt fish rather than releasing water to farmers to grow food. Is it any wonder that so many businesses have pulled up stakes and moved out to red states including Texas? By the way, California is not happy unless they burn a sizable part of it down every year because of rebuilding in brush zones. I would think the insurance market out there is getting a bit tired of that behavior.

“if you don’t believe in something then it can’t be real”
      —It works for atheists.
“Since the population has been taught that science is a fraud”
      —What science?
“Oh and the Gulf, it’s ok, people are making money and it will trickle down so who cares if it’ll be dead as a result”
—What the hell are you talking about?
“Not us, we don’t believe in that.”
—First, who is “us”? Second, you don’t believe in what?

You are speaking gibberish. Are you sure you are an insurance professional? First, learn to speak in complete coherent sentences. Then, learn proper grammar. If you are going to make a point and be taken seriously, at least take time to make your point presentable and understandable. And I would recommend a more intelligible user name than “Hmmmm”. It is a sound.

Hey Hmmmmmm, you should change your moniker to Knumbskull. What do you think New York, New Jersey and other N/E states do with their garbage? The quick answer is barges dumping it in the Atlantic ocean instead of landfills. Is that being responsible? Enjoy your Atlantic caught seafood and think about it.

of course that is your “quick” answer. it is not accurate or true, but it sure was a quick answer! kudos for continuing to spread misinformation as fact.

also agent, I think your new name should be Knumbskull as there is no K in numb you Kidiot.

Big shock, none of the southern states are doing much, so of course, the norther, Democratic states will have to pay to support them, like they already do with almost everything else. The best thing we could do is just make 2 countries, and make the south pay to build the wall that the north controls, since they like that idea with their southern border.

Oh, you mean like with super storm Sandy and how NJ is raping the wallets of other states asking for money to reconstruct the homes of wealth people living next to the ocean?

The South is not as prepared as the North is for snow and ice that is true. However, the South typically only has to worry about ice around 3 or 4 weeks out of Winter and this is usually spread over the winter months. The North has to be prepared, they get most of the snow and have to have the equipment to clear the roads. The south does not have much equipment for that due to the inconsistency of when they get snow or ice.

Wayne, perhaps we should ask the companies who have to respond to storms with disaster teams on this issue. –it happens all the time, particularly in the spring, summer and fall. How long did the N/E know before Sandy hit? They couldn’t decide whether it was a hurricane or a Nor Easter. How long ago was that now and thousands of claims have not been paid or resolved?

Hurricane Sandy is irrelevant, as is the idiotic, “not a hurricane” argument (unless you are debating insurance exclusions, etc., but I haven’t seen that mentioned here by anyone other than myself, it’s all been climate change denials).

Red states far-and-away take in more federal dollars than they pay in taxes, the blue states are the opposite. Overall red states are basically on welfare from the blue states.

So we are grading states on how well prepared they are to respond to a hoax? It’s not science when you words like “consensus” to describe it. Science is not up to a consensus.

Actually, the infancy of scientific fact is consensus. Then, those groups of scientists, along with others, seek to disprove the theory at hand. So, for example, there was a consensus the earth is not 600 years old. They sought to disprove that theory, but it became obvious through the scientific method the earth is much older than 600 years old. Or, the earth is not flat. Again, couldn’t be disproven. They discovered, as they consensually thought, the earth is indeed not flat. If you look at the method, the last step is something like “communicate your findings”. This communication is the foundation of that consensus.

Debating science with these morons is like debating piano music with a def person. They don’t have the capability to debate the topic, so they go off what other people have fed them. If you went on a few posts I’m sure he would say evolution is “only a theory” or some other nonsense.
