Effective January 1, 2016, the group of five Insurance Innovators wholesale insurance brokerages known as The III Group has been renamed AmWINS Access Insurance Services, a division of AmWINS Group Inc. The III Group’s five locations were acquired by the specialty insurance broker AmWINS in August 2015.
The agencies rebranded as AmWINS Access are Insurance Innovators Inc., III of Maryland, Inc., Insurance Innovators of New Jersey Inc., Innovators of New York Inc. and Insurance Innovators of New England Inc.
The AmWINS Access unit is dedicated to small account binding authority business. Its primary focus is on excess and surplus lines property, casualty and package accounts with less than $10,000 in premium. The division has 400 employees in 27 offices.
“AmWINS is a firm made up of rich legacies, as many different brands have taken the AmWINS name,” said Ben Sloop, president of AmWINS Access. “The III Group is a well-known and well-respected firm and we feel that there are a number of benefits from taking our next step together under a unified, common brand.”
The III Group, founded in 1972 and based in Glenside, Pennsylvania, specializes in general liability, professional lines, commercial auto, property, contractors and personal lines.
III Group President Michael Kravitz said the partnership gives the brokerages the ability to expand their product offerings and become part of a national distribution platform.
In addition to announcing the rebranding, AmWINS said that a number of employees will be joining AmWINS Brokerage of Pennsylvania as well as AmWINS Transportation Underwriters.
