FFA, that will not make KYjw happy. She was trumpeting their success not long ago.

By the way, who do you like in the NFL playoffs. Some say it will be the Pats vs Panthers. I am not so sure about that. I like the Cardinals a lot and Denver is very tough at home and have been tough on Brady there over the years.

Manning has a history of chocking in the Playoffs… So Pats it is.
Cheering for the Cards as Palmer and Fitz have been awesome this year and they are getting near the end of their career. But I would bet on the Panthers as Newton & Olson have been better then good this year. I have to believe that Newton is the hottest QB in the league today.

As far a JW goes, all may have been working well in KY, but no profit, no funding, no well…. you know. An endless loop of failure this has been.

i have totaled – above and beyond premiums, not accounting for Cash Payments, Debit Payments and Credit Card charges – just what was owed in in oop expenses that I paid out of the check book $15,440 last year. My total expense will end up over $30,000 including premiums… But its affordable because a cook county politician says so.

FFA, did you know that Palmer is the same age as Romo and Jerry Jones thinks he can get 5 more years out of him. What a joke. I would trade Dez for Fitzgerald in a heart beat even if he is older. That guy is a football player and actually catches the ball when it is thrown to him.

The Panthers had better play 60 minutes this week or the Cardinals will hand them their head.

FFA, Manning didn’t choke, but he wasn’t that good either. Denver’s defense won that game. They will not be able to get away with that against Carolina. Newton is really good and they have a good enough defense to win it all.

If Hillary wins I see political wars damaging the right in the congress and senate more than her.

You can’t get much more obvious than what Obama did with the senate and congress and he won twice. Hillary will play the same game.

If Cruz or someone else doesn’t win that nomination we may lose the republican influence for a while.

Sorry J.S., I don’t live on the IJ like some of the ignorant leftist trolls do. By the way, if you had been paying attention to Healthcare issues for the past 5 years, I wouldn’t need to educate you once again. All of the plans have been thoroughly discussed on this forum. Obama made the mess and Republicans have to clean it up. Have you ever heard of replacement of policies in P&C? Cancellations/Rewrites? Is that too novel of an idea for you? The companies all have their former policies in their computer archives and can offer them again. How about forgiving the taxes that are being charged ($695) as a start? Let insurance companies be in charge again instead of mandating what must be offered. Put the sickest back in the Pools instead of lumping them with the healthy forcing up rates. Subsidize the Pools if you must. That is far less expensive than what was put in. I kind of think Republicans will not force feed Congress in a totally partisan way like Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Schumer, Nelson and others did.

Thank you Agent. It may have taken three attempts before you responded to a simple question but, you finally did respond.

I’ll effectively ignore the first part of your response because it consists of nothing except rudeness and name calling, something you will notice I have avoided doing.

Your response to the question appears to consist of going back to the previous system with the addition of subsidized pools for very sick people.

Since these pools would consist of only the very sick, the costs would be very high. How would you pay for them? Who would pay the higher taxes?

If a previously healthy person found out they have cancer, would you move them to the pool or would you keep them in with the healthy people, thus increasing the rate for the healthy people (and would subsidies then be considered)? If you would move them to the pool, doesn’t that mean the insurance for healthy people is only for standard visits and small health problems and injuries? And why would anyone buy that?

Your answer also doesn’t appear to address poor people who aren’t sick and thus, don’t qualify for subsidies. How would they pay for insurance or should they just wait until they get sick and then get coverage through the pools?

Personally, I don’t support the old system. Too many millions of people couldn’t get appropriate health care when they needed it. I don’t think that an emergency room is the right place for many health problems and that was the only available option.

As Americans, we should all have access to quality medical care and medical care providers should get paid for their work. Health insurance is not like car or home insurance. I don’t have an option as to whether or not I have a body which can get sick or injured. I do have an option as to whether I purchase a car or home.

I am NOT a fan of Obamacare. It has many problems but overall, it is better than the system which preceded it. I am hopeful that fixes can be put in place. However, if repealed and replaced, any replacement plan needs to make quality health care available to everyone and needs to assure that providers are paid a fair price.

JS, I have a life long friend that is a Rep Politician at the state level. He has stated numerous times that if the State of IL put all uninsured people on an HMO, the cost to subsidize this plan would have been a lot less costly then what oBama has jammed down our throats.

Additionally, Pools were available for the pre x crowd. Subsidize them folks. Revise Cobra to remove the 18 month time frame, let the carriers bill the Cobra crowd directly. The Internet Infrastructure worked just fine.

The ACA did nothing to address the underlying factors. The ACA jammed everyone in the country in the system all at the same time right before the holidays when Internet traffic peaks. Not to mention the blatant straight face lies oBama told everyone – including you and I.

This year alone – not including premiums, credit card charges, cash payment & debit Cards, I have tallied so far $15,440 in just checks I wrote to providers. After all gets totaled, I am sure I am gonna dance around the $40,000 number. How is this affordable?

JS, I noticed you forgave your buddies rudeness, name calling, insults and only concentrated on me giving it back to them. If you have followed my comments for any time, you know that I don’t cut them any slack.

You seem to be worried about putting the sickest in Pools and how to pay for them. You do realize we had Pools prior to Obamacare, right. They were available in a lot of states and actually worked. Subsidizing them is a very minor cost compared to Obamacare’s cost and the 20 Taxes in it. You also seem to be worried about the poor getting coverage. Have you ever heard of a program called Medicaid which was specifically designed to cover the poor and basically free to them?

You say you aren’t a fan of Obamacare but it is better than the previous system. Hello! Have you ever witnessed such a disruption in Healthcare in the history of the country? Is this an example of how it is better?

How about giving us some examples of how you would change Obamacare that would actually straighten it out so we could have a better system? Please don’t bother to tell us that you would put in single payer like some of the others have suggested. The country does not need the VA system on steroids.

First, I only commented on your rudeness and insults because you were the only person who was rude to and insulted me. I’m not here to police the entire site.

In the prior system, 30 million people had no insurance. Obviously, pools and Medicaid weren’t working as well as you seem to think. I thought your prior post was proposing something better than the system we used to have. My bad.

Obamacare can be improved in many ways: reduce the required coverages-only catastrophic and trauma care should be required; eliminate the cadillac tax; make it easy for small employers to join larger groups thus reducing their costs; increase the number of employees needed for an employer to be required to purchase insurance for their employees, etc.

There are more but I, like you, have other things to do.

I am also open to a repeal and replacement but only if the replacement plan provides that all sick and injured Americans can get appropriate health care when needed and that medical providers be fairly compensated for their work.

JS, how about you learn something about me before you rain on my parade about any subject. I don’t respond well to being badgered, ragged on or however you put it. I get enough of that from 4 or 5 others that think it is cute to insult, badger, call me names and that is why I don’t give them the time of day. They are not worth the trouble, believe me.

Thank you for not proposing Single Payer as a replacement since we both know the Federal Government is so incompetent and wasteful that the nightmare would be extended. I take it you are not a fan of mandates like we have with Obamacare where people are forced to take coverage they don’t necessarily want. That could have been handled on the application with a simple yes or no box but wasn’t. You touched very lightly on the Cadillac Tax elimination. How about the Medical Device tax? What about the penalty for not taking coverage. The tax is now $695 for not buying. In all, about 20 taxes in the law. I am all for small groups being able to join larger groups for savings if it really worked.

I, too want full repeal and replacement. We want true transparency, not a bunch of liars giving pie in the sky, promising premiums would go down and then having them go the other way, limiting access to doctors and hospitals instead of expanding access etc. We want our medical community to be fairly compensated as well. I think the net result of what we have seen is that people forced to buy large deductibles, large out of pocket expenses are not going to the doctor because they can’t afford to. They are just using emergency or urgent care in the Doc in the Box, paying cash or being put on pay plans. It is truly a joke.

So, as I indicated in my prior post, my list of problems with Obamacare was not intended to be a full and complete list.

Now I will ask you: Do you agree that the health care payment system in the United States should be designed so that every American can get appropriate health care when they are sick or injured and that medical providers should be compensated fairly for their services?

Separately, do you feel that the health care payment system in the United States prior to the introduction of Obamacare successfully met both of the above objectives?

Come on Shirley…. Calling out the red states for lying politicians when OBama (the biggest liar of all) came from IL??? Its a war zone in Chicago and his good ole pal Rahm is too arrogant to ask Rauner for help. When Rauner suggests a workable solution to the schools that Rahm has screwed up so bad, Rahm says he can handle the situation. Well, he hasn’t. He cant. He wont. Thats why the feds are in town again…

And, I guess you havn’t seen United Van Lines article. IL – Formerly a blue state – had more then 102000 people move out. Texas, on the other hand had the most move in to. New York had the most moved out of. An article in the Chicago Trib stated that IL has lost so much population that it is on the verge of losing a seat in the House. No word on shrinking the State / County & City Govts due the total Mis Management of this state for Decades by – yes you guessed it – Democrats.

BTW, when I moved out, I accounted for 6 people moving out. There are more in my family looking at doing the same. If my brother and sisters follow, there will be another 35 or so just in my family that has fled the blue in favor of properly managed Republican state.

JS, I believe you started out saying that you tried to get me to answer three times. As long as you are reasonable, I will answer your posts. Badgering me is not the way to go.

The list of deficiencies with Obamacare would fill a book and even Bob could not cover all of them in a post. You touched on a few and I touched on more.

Your question was, do you agree that the Healthcare payment system in the United States should be designed so that every American can get appropriate care when they are sick or injured and that medical providers should be compensated fairly for their services? The answer is yes, but our government has made that pretty much impossible with the disastrous Obamacare Law.

Do you feel that the Healthcare payment system in the United States prior to Obamacare successfully met both of the objectives? No, but the idiots on the left wanted their system with mandates, taxes, restrictions in access to doctors in hospitals totally screwed the pooch (a military term).

The solution to this problem is to repeal and replace with the system that will do what you and I want. This law cannot be fixed with band aids. We have to gut it and start over from scratch with the consumer, doctors, hospitals in mind or it will continue to spiral out of control as we have seen in the past almost 6 years.

        Thank you Agent.

It took a while but we came to an agreement on the basics for creating a health care payment system.

Now if only our representatives in Congress could take the trouble to do the same.

As you and I showed, it can be done.

Thanks for the courtesy JS. We actually had a civil discussion. As you know, there are several on this blog who can’t make a civil comment to me without an insult or calling me a name.

I think we have a chance to spur some change with our lawmakers once we change the Presidency out. As you know, that veto pen will be used for the rest of this year because he thinks his signature legislation has been wildly successful. The only thing this President has been wildly successful at is dividing the country. It has degenerated into a bunker mentality with him against any Republican or Conservative. We have had two mid terms and one General Election where the policies have been rejected and not a sign of any compromise on his part. What a sorry legacy he is going to have. The only thing worse that could happen would be election of either Hilliary or Bernie this coming November. I don’t think the American people will allow this to happen. Progressive’s are the worst.
