Chubb’s Hearden, Allianz’s LePiane Join Hiscox Professional Risks

Specialty insurer Hiscox announced senior executive hires to its Professional Risks division, which writes liability coverage for professionals in the technology, architects and engineering, accounting, financial services, real estate, healthcare and other sectors.

Sean Hearden has been appointed as vice president and head of Financial Services. In this underwriting leadership role, Hearden will oversee the strategic direction of the existing investment fund product offerings and lead the expansion into other financial services segments, including registered investment advisors.

Hearden brings 13 years of experience and joins Hiscox after eight years at Chubb Specialty Insurance, where he held various senior underwriting positions within the Financial Institutions division.

Hearden will be based in Hiscox’s Chicago office and will report to Neil Lipuma, senior vice president and Professional Risks practice leader for Hiscox USA.

Hiscox also announced the appointment of Maureen LePiane as senior vice president and dead of Middle Market E&O (errors and omissions) for the Professional Risks division, also reporting to Lipuma but working out of Hiscox’s New York office.

LePiane was previously the E&O Practice Group Leader at Allianz Global where she oversaw E&O business focusing on small and medium sized enterprise accounts in both the retail and wholesale brokerage channels. She has 15 years of underwriting management experience across multiple lines.
