Brown Named CEO of Willis Programs

May 11, 2016

Willis Towers Watson has appointed Stacy D. Brown as president and CEO of Willis Programs, the company’s program administration business.

Brown brings 28 years of experience in the insurance and environmental consulting industry to this role. He joined Freberg Environmental Insurance, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Willis Towers Watson, in 1998, and has served as president and managing partner for the past seven years. He will continue to hold this position for the near future.

Brown assumes the role previously held by David Hampson, who retired earlier this year.

Reporting to Tom Coughlin, national partner, Willis Towers Watson, Brown will be based in Denver, and be focused on expanding the business’s portfolio of insurance programs.

Willis Programs currently serves 36 niche markets, reaching 4,000 independent agents and brokers across the U.S. The portfolio includes Guard programs — including MountainGuard and LawyerGuard — and its latest, announced last week, DroneGuard, for unmanned system owners and operators who are members the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI). Willis Programs also includes offerings with Smith, Bell & Thompson and Freberg Environmental programs.

Willis Programs provides underwriting, claim management and loss control expertise through a staff of 200. It is headquartered in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, with branch offices in Burlington, Tampa, Detroit, Denver, Salt Lake City and Hartford.
