Wow this judge is really a piece of work. The first purpose of the act as written is pretty clear to me.
“(b) Purposes The purposes of this chapter are as follows:
    (1) To prohibit causes of action against manufacturers, distributors, dealers, and importers of firearms or ammunition products, and their trade associations, for the harm solely caused by the criminal or unlawful misuse of firearm products or ammunition products by others when the product functioned as designed and intended.

If we agree with the act or not that is the law. It works for the liberals in arguing their points so figure it should work here as well.

The judge hasn’t ruled yet on this issue. There was a summary judgment filed on jurisdictional issues that she rejected–and wisely so, given the political backlash had she quashed the suit out of hand. The PLCAA runs into CT statutes, which the article does not address. Normally, the PLCAA should provide easy summary judgment evidence to quash the case. However, CT statutes state that motions to dismiss are confined to whether a court has jurisdiction to hear a case. In this situation, the law itself in CT would prohibit a dismissal of the case without a hearing. If the jurisdiction is valid (which it is) then the plaintiffs get their day(days, weeks, etc.) in court.

Of course, the Act clearly (to me at least) provides the shield that Remington is looking for, and barring extreme jury bias (fairly likely in this case) they should be able to prevail. If they run into jury bias, expect the plaintiffs to win big, Remington to appeal, and damage caps (if they exist) to be applied.

Using the logic that got this to court, why not arrest the manufacturers of Adam Lanza?

Can’t arrest the mother of Adam since he killed her with the gun she bought for him. How about arresting the manufacturer of the Orlando shooter? He was made by a Muslim to kill infidels. How about arresting the Imam of his mosque?

so when a christian in america kills people over religious beliefs (Scott Roeder, Wade Michael Page) we should arrest their priests too, right?

I was responding to Jack, not the resident troll on the blog. You need to wake up and smell the coffee on Muslims and their agenda in this country. Our President hasn’t yet and they will continue with their killing of all infidels. By the way, the Orlando shooter pledged his loyalty to ISIS on tape, or did you miss that by watching MSNBC.

so was that a yes? i never disagreed with you and never said we shouldn’t punish the Imam, you just assumed so. I was simply asking if your suggestion would apply to people who kill in the name of non-muslim religions. that is not trolling. that is seeking clarification of your suggestion. stop being so defensive and just answer a question for once.

No, wrong…unless their Priest/Minister/Pastor is exhorting & inciting them to commit criminal/evil acts…and then applauding such criminal/evil acts (see ISIS, et al)
I believe there are laws regarding inciting, aiding & abetting criminal activities (in times of war treason might apply: providing aid & comfort to our enemies – see Benghazi, where some of our own government officials provided an alibi for our sworn enemies, allowing them a couple of weeks head start to evade capture and avoid justice) and criminal conspiracy. Many Imams are engaging in these illegal/criminal activities, whereas very few leaders of other faiths are.
          Hope this helps un-confuse you!
BTW confused, just wondering about your random use of capitol letters in proper nouns…proper names in caps, but not Christian or America? subliminal disrespect? I’m probably just splitting hairs, so maybe you should just stick to ALL lower case letters – using the shift key can be so time consuming.

there is no subliminal or overt attempt to downplay Christianity or America or anything else. sometimes I just don’t hit shift, other times I believe i do but it didn’t take. you should not read into my capitalization or lack thereof at all.

I’m 100% with you about those who incite, aid, abet, etc. criminal activities should be held responsible for their actions.

i was just wondering if agent would feel the same way if all things with the orlando shooter were equal, except their religious beliefs.

so if the orlando shooter was Christian (better? :), and his Priest (better? :) said he should kill and withheld his massacre intentions from law enforcement, would agent agree the priest should be arrested just like he said the imam should?

just trying to see if he agrees everyone should be afforded the same rights and penalties, regardless of which religion they follow. i am not sure he feels that way considering his consistent disgust for all things muslim.

I have a hard time believing you are asking that for any reason other than to prove to yourself that Muslims are mistreated by comparison to Christians.

But as an answer, in the vent that a priest told a Christian to kill:

Yes. He should go to jail.

There is a double standard in the media, and it is not in favor of Christianity by comparison to Muslim faith.

            http://nationalreport.net/obama-refers-colorado-shooter-christian-terrorist-press-briefing/

Apparently we are calling Christians “Christian” terrorists. But we won’t call Muslim terrorists even “radical” Muslim terrorists.

And never mind this, showing something is wrong in that we aren’t fully seeking out Christian victims, it’s just Muslims suffering right?

Good one Yogi. Some people will argue with a fence post won’t they? Interesting that some people believe that Islam is a religion. Actually, they are an evil cult and we see the evidence all the time.

agent – does your reply to Yogi mean you were just kidding when you wrote “How about arresting the Imam of his mosque?”

i just want to know if you’re serious or joking when you said that. it’s a really simple question.

please try to answer without making any insults or derogatory comments. in advance, thank you for explaining your intent.

    Funny thing about religion…
Christianity, Islam and Judaism all share the same roots in the Old Testament.

The biggest differences start with the New Testament and the Quran, and how the three faiths view Jesus and Muhammad.

From a historical view-point its fairly fascinating.
