BHSI Launches A&E Professional Liability Policy with Cyber Insurance

July 12, 2016

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has introduced Professional First architects & engineers (A&E) professional liability insurance in the U.S.

The new policy’s cyber coverage addresses media, technology and network security and privacy liability exposures, including the design professional’s own costs to respond to a data breach or network extortion threat. BHSI customers also have access to a network of experts to assist them in responding to a data breach or extortion threat, and can take advantage of risk management services, including contract reviews, newsletters and best practices webinars.

Limits up to $25 million are available, backed by BHSI’s financial strength. Coverage can be underwritten on an admitted or non-admitted basis.

A&E professional liability insurance is part of BHSI’s Professional First suite of products, which also includes asset management liability insurance; insurance company professional liability insurance; network security & privacy liability insurance; bankers professional liability insurance, and miscellaneous professional liability insurance. All of the products in the Professional First suite are designed to provide current and customized coverage for professional services firms and financial institutions.

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance provides commercial property, casualty, healthcare professional liability, executive and professional lines, surety, travel, programs, medical stop loss and homeowners insurance. The actual and final terms of coverage for all product lines may vary. It underwrites on the paper of Berkshire Hathaway’s National Indemnity group of insurance companies.
