I don’t understand what is the “unintended consequences”?

One unintended consequence could be setting up the supervisor/boss for a harassment claim if he takes the “kissing up” the wrong way.

For you millenials out there, in the old days we called such a person a ‘brown-noser.’

Yeah. Common sense went away with a few years back. Now they have to spend millions to figure out something people our age learned when we were kids. Crap TV and lack of parenting has led to a generation of weak, clueless people who prefer to be told their opinions than to form their own. Welcome to the new millennium.

People seem to be so “confused” about their identity that they don’t know which bathroom to use.

that’s backwards. those folks know exactly which bathroom they want to use. the issue is people like you forcing them to use the other bathroom instead. of course i’m sure you felt the same way back when they started to let black people use white people bathrooms too.

What an asinine comment and terribly weak comparison. My guess is that the VAST majority of people in the country, including the black people you used for your sake, would tell you that they don’t approve of people using whichever bathroom they want to use. Many businesses I go to have Men/Women/Family bathrooms. The confused should be able to find one of those without frightening children.
Beside, the perverts (real pervs) have already begun using this newly found loophole to ply their trade (several arrests of men dressed as women using cameras in the women’s restroom).

your guess is not based in reality.

46 percent of Americans think transgender people should use the bathrooms assigned to their birth gender, slightly fewer — 41 percent — think they should be able use the bathroom of the gender they identify as.

            http://www.cbsnews.com/news/cbs-poll-americans-divided-over-transgender-bathroom-laws-supreme-court/

FYI – the REAL pervs have already been using the opposite sex’s bathrooms to ply their trade. We know that as long as there have been women’s restrooms there have been men who disguise themselves as women and enter these restrooms to harass women

“There has never been a verifiable reported instance of a trans person harassing a cisgender person, nor have there been any confirmed reports of male predators ‘pretending’ to be transgender to gain access to women’s spaces and commit crimes against them.”

            https://mic.com/articles/114066/statistics-show-exactly-how-many-times-trans-people-have-attacked-you-in-bathrooms#.fGt5zrZJe

Maza has also polled public school systems that allow transgender students to use the bathroom of the gender they identify as. In a June 2015 article, he wrote that in 17 districts with a total of 600,000 students, officials hadn’t reported a single incident of “harassment or inappropriate behavior” related to transgender students and bathrooms.

Then you have trans men being forced to use a woman’s bathroom even though while they were born women, they’re clearly men now.

if jenner has s3xual reassignment surgery to get a v@gina and to remove the p3nis, you’re okay with him/her in the men’s bathroom even though he/she doesn’t have a phallus and has all female parts instead?

confused: if you believe poll results are accurate and representative as they claim to be, then I’ve got some land to sell you about 80 miles east of Savannah, Ga. While I appreciate you citing all of your work, I find it pretty gullible of you to assume that CBS or CNN or MSNBC would use accurate, unbiased data in any poll or other work they did.
“……nor have there been any confirmed reports of male predators ‘pretending’ to be transgender to gain access to women’s spaces and commit crimes against them.” YES, there have. Here is a sampling for you:

For the people who are ‘truely trans’, if that is such a catagory, I don’t care where …, but this liberal push to ‘make’ everyone accept it is baloney/ you can only push people just so far, better to take an approach that allows the public to come along at a pace that they can be comfortable with. Most of your MSM news sources aren’t going to report the problems that have come up due to this ‘open door’ policy because it’s not popular. They have proven time and again that they have an agenda and they report what they want to promote that agenda and they will edit (see Katie Couric)anything that is contrary to their goals to make give the appearance that all is well.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but since you only believe what you want to believe, I doubt that I have.
