Tesla has stopped delivering Autopilot 1.0.

Tesla is now delivering Self Driving Capability (Level 5 SAE) and Autopilot 2.0 feature.

Looking forward to an update on your article.

Once autonomous vehicle technology is found to be statistically superior to human-controlled operation, owners/drivers who choose not to “buy in” will be penalized by paying higher insurance premiums than they do now. So insurance companies, and the laws of economics, will determine when autonomous driving technology becomes the norm.

Personally i would not want to be in a car that did not have brakes and a steering wheel as a backup in case the computer running the car crashes (no pun intended). How many times do you call a company to find out there computers are down?

What if the vehicle computer is hacked and causes an accident? Who will be sued, the manufacturer or the customer that owns the vehicle?

No worries folks. Ford isn’t selling these cars until 20121 according to the article. We will all be long gone before this goes into effect.

Bob, do you wonder about the proofreading skills of IJ some time?

I’m thinking we’ll all be floating around on brain power alone by 20121…so it may be a bit of a gamble to wait until then…just saying.

New York City’s “Ground Zero” is the World Transportation Center (WTC), the point of origin for America’s new self-driving-car infrastructure.

When you search “World Transportation Center” on Google Images, Manhattan’s former World Trade Center (WTC) comes up.

I foresee more detriment coming from all this than progress, especially the loss of jobs and increased cost of non-autonomous vehicles.

You think inner cities have traffic jams now, just wait!

I would think that an article titled, “Pricing Insurance for Autonomous Vehicles,” would actually say something about pricing insurance for autonomous vehicles—maybe something about accident/fatality/injury/damage statistics and comparative risk between autonomous vs. human piloted vehicles.
