If Labor Union leaders and Dems push(ed) back against Foxx, she must be doing the right things.

From the brief outline of her agenda, it is clear Foxx will make a HYUUUGE positive impact on the labor market and workers ability to get and keep (their) jobs.

Unions were once valuable and now a waste of money. If union members would step back and look at all the people being employed by the union itself, they would think twice about how their dues are spent and how much more they could put in their own pocket.

A lot of dues are spent supporting Democrats who are the failures of our society. They are very corrupt and useless in our country. Besides, there will be millions of jobs created in the next few years and they don’t have to be union jobs.

Labor unions don’t support democrats now?

Common sense dictates he is correct. Saying “source needed” actually shows you yourself haven’t researched it, or used common sense.

          https://www.unionfacts.com/article/political-money/

You can also go to open secrets, and look up some unions out there. Most of them give 90% or more of their donations to democrats.

            @Bob;

Confused simply says “source” or “link” when he wants someone to support common sense or common knowledge. I wonder why that is? The answer… it is avoidance of an inevitable conclusion, and diversion from the main topic.

The recent 5 or 6 years of ‘interactions’ between Gov. Scott Walker in Wisconsin and labor unions in Wisconsin gives Confused some of the evidence he/ she requested.

I ask for sources because people like you and Agent continue to post your own beliefs as facts, data that can’t be verified as proof to support your points, or incomplete data that doesn’t tell the whole story.

If you say something is true and don’t provide a link, and it can’t be easily verified within 20 minutes, then you need to post the source to prove the statement is true.

It has nothing to do with avoiding a conclusion or diverting from the topic – the latter of which makes no sense because it’s an on-topic request for evidence to continue discussing the topic.

People like. Are we grouping again based on the belief that conservatives don’t know how to research? Also, I myself use more links and connect dots more than you do. You just say how others are wrong, using what you perceive is a flaw in the data. They do tell the whole story. Also, you always say that republican leaders need to stop saying what is wrong and focus on what is right. So you’re guilty of doing what they are doing that you don’t like? Maybe you should stop doing that. Also, specifics. What specifically have I done what you’re saying? Lately, I’ve backed up my numbers insanely well. You haven’t.

“If you say something is true and don’t provide a link, and it can’t be easily verified within 20 minutes, then you need to post the source to prove the statement is true.”

Disagreed. Not everyone can have links at the ready, and you yourself don’t do this. If it takes 20 minutes to look up, I think people like you should just look it up instead of having someone else educate you constantly. We aren’t your teachers. Labor unions and democrats is an obvious one. It doesn’t take much to draw the line.

“It has nothing to do with avoiding a conclusion or diverting from the topic – the latter of which makes no sense because it’s an on-topic request for evidence to continue discussing the topic.”

I didn’t touch on this. Could it be you are diverting the topic by saying that? You are likely referring to UW, who is not you. If I say he’s diverting as well as others let’s take it case by case and incident by incident.

If I’ve said it to you in the past, let’s deal with right now which I haven’t.

If you assumed “people like you and Agent” was my way of calling you out, you’re 100% wrong. I called out two people by name and those are the only folks I was talking about. I wish you hadn’t taken my post personally as it had NOTHING to do with you whatsoever.

“Also, you always say that republican leaders need to stop saying what is wrong and focus on what is right.”

I have never said anything like that. Not even once.

As for you saying I should find the source myself, that is a 180 degree turn from the last time we discussed source quoting.

Before, when I replied to a non-sourced stat with a link to prove the stat wrong, you jumped down my throat and said the ONLY way to debate fairly when someone posts a stat without a source it to request their source.

So that’s what I did. But now you’re saying I should not ask for the source and just post my source to argue the contrary.

So which do you think is most fair? If someone posts a stat without a source, should I (a) post my source to refute their argument or (b) ask for their source. I’ve done both, and both times you’ve said I’m debating wrong. I don’t know what you want from me.

It couldn’t be possible that a union is causing any problems is it?

Either we support them wholly or not at all, is that it? If we criticize your Gods, you then disregard all debate on potentially damaging unions?

This is precisely the issue with America. Someone says they will take on Unions, and you go all haywire and make it into class warfare.

Instead of making this a moral commentary about any statement the republicans make about unions, why don’t you make it a logical one? Perhaps by defending a section of union actions?

Can I get an Amen, is pandering to the same zealotry you accuse republicans of.

You may not get an amen. You may not get a hallelujah. Is it really too hard to ask for you guys not to play moral high ground and instead to debate facts and what you do and do not like about policy?

No ‘amen’. But you may get a few Amendments soon, such as a balanced budget amendment. Other, more conservative concept amendments are also possible if the Republicans pick up 8 seats in the 2018 election, when about 22 Dem seats are up for re-election – some of them in states that Trump won hyuuuuuuge.

    @Confused, UW, Capt. Platitude, Ron;

Bad news for Jill Franken Stein and Dems:

So, let me ask you two questions, which you should answer directly or expect no further replies from me…

HOW MANY RECOUNTS are needed to assure elections are valid? Who decides on the validity of the recount?

Further, this bad news for Dems wasn’t ever going to be bad news for Franken Stein. But Hillary can ask for the recount in MI to re-start. THAT would be a good thing… for Republicans to use in 2018 and going forward.

      DePolarBearables,

Throwing out ultimatums. Nice debating style.

Regarding your questions, there are no simple answers. However, here are my answers:

      1. HOW MANY RECOUNTS are needed to assure elections are valid? Based on state law. If you are asking my opinion, assuming no evidence of improprieties, zero.

      2. Who decides on the validity of the recount? Based on state law. If you are asking my opinion, an equal number of people from every party involved.

When Unions first came about, they were essential. Employers were almost all-powerful. They abused and arguably murdered their employees for pathetic wages. Unions helped to fix that, and bless them for it! NOW, the pendulum has swung too far the other way. I know nurses who cannot be fired because they are being protected by the unions despite their incompetence and insubordination. I know teachers who have basically stopped teaching protected by tenure. I know contractors who are literally paid to stand around and watch others work. Employers now absorb these financial burdens and have no ability to fight back except to support republicans. In many cases, the employers who would go bankrupt (or forced to move jobs overseas to avoid bankruptcy) over these added costs are supported by government handouts like Trump gave to Carrier, which means we the taxpayers now fund these burdens. We’ve gotten too much of a good thing and now we are choking on it. We cannot go back to how things were before the unions, we need them, but we need to push things back a little.
