The image of the chef chopping mushrooms with an index finger placed on the top of the knife also demonstrates improper form. The handle should be held with all fingers – a full fist. I suspect this is just stock photography, but ironic, since this article is all about food safety.

Actually, you should pinch the back of the blade between your thumb and pointer finger. This gives you the best control of the blade. Having all fingers around the handle would be worse than the pictured technique.

If they really wanted to see bad methods, go to Chipotle some time.

What are their CURRENT methods, Agent? Please do tell. Also, what is your hangup about Chipotle? Why don’t you also cite Pizza Ranch for causing food poisoning with its dessert pizza, the over 100 people who became violently ill after eating McDonald’s in a TN location, The KFC location causing salmonella poisoning last year, the over 200 critical violations with a sample of 100 locations for both Wendy’s and Hardees, and 241 violations at Burger King with the same sample size? I don’t see you ever talk about those.

If anyone really wants to stay on top of food safety, current recalls, and current investigations, here you go:

Solution; eat raw, fresh fish, like me.

@CapTroll PlaneTroll; I got a gift certificate for Chipotle for a Christmas gift. They don’t serve raw fish there. Can I send the GC to you?

Depolar, Planetorium doesn’t bother to read anything that has happened to Chipotle with customer’s getting sick on their food and even their employees. Sales have dropped off big time. I saw a piece that they tried to get in the burger business with beef without any additives. The only problem was that they couldn’t sell it due to the exhorbitant price they were charging and people said it didn’t taste good.

Sure, I’d take that gift cert. I’m not afraid of Chipotle. I have ate there before, though I typically stay away from any fast food chain all together. Someone in my family could use it.

No, I have probably kept up on Chipotle more than you, Age. My world is food safety. I know they have addressed any issues and the ones their restaurant faced aren’t any different from other restaurants who have had similar food borne pathogen outbreaks. If you believe Chipotle stands alone, well, once again, you aren’t paying attention. As a general rule, my family doesn’t eat fast food. If we had to make an exception, I’d much rather my kids eat Chipotle than McDonald’s/Wendy’s/Arby’s/BK/KFC/Taco Bell/Taco John’s

That’s right, duh. Brown people and Millennials, ’nuff said. I think we forgot organics, too, though. I don’t know how Agent would have survived 100 years ago. All food was organic and non-GMO. He probably would have starved. “What? This food doesn’t have added hormones, unnecessary chemical additives, and 15 ingredients I can’t even pronounce? The heck with your so-called food. Just bring me a water. And I want that kind the EPA hasn’t tested, too. In fact, just bring me a glass of fracking water.”

That’s right, UW, I do remember. He was taking a dig at me because I like to feed our family healthy foods and yes, we do buy free range chicken (he knows I do eat it) from an organic farm where yes, we do buy organic produce. Gee, what a horrible human being I am for eating the way my parents, grandfolks, and those before them ate. Evidently, food is one thing Agent and other conservatives do not want to take with them in the “Way Back Machine”.

What a waste of tax payer dollars. Anyone that knows anything about food safety could have made this conclusion. Both of these colleges have great food safety programs and provide valuable research for consumers. If The USDA and the National Institute for Food and Agriculture have funds for this type of research, perhaps their budget needs to be reviewed.

Not only could this be a waste of taxpayer money, the whole study is flawed if they are watching it on TV. How do they know what got cut on the editing floor? I watch a few of these shows from time to time. Some are based on time limits, so they have to go fast. Most are half-hour shows, so much of the prep and cooking time are cut. Dumb article.

Don’t know about you DePolar, but I prefer watching Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives to see great people making great food which is liked by their customers. These are mainly small business owners who are very optimistic that we have only 22 days left until Trump becomes President.

That guy with the spikey hair is getting almost as big as me.

I wonder if he ever ate any health food?

For the Trump inauguration after-party in my neighborhood, I think I’ll feast on some unhealthy food that Michelle wouldn’t approve of…. just because.
