Polar, I see you have one detractor already from the multi moniker dudes. Republicans cannot do nothing because Obamacare is disappearing before our very eyes.

I prefer Republicans clear the pathway for the HI industry to fix most of the problems they caused, and which were exacerbated by ACA.

Legislation to repeal should be swiftly followed by legislation to allow writing HI across state lines, tort reform, tax credits for HI Savings/ Expense Accounts, and some other legislation I can’t now reveal.

The high risk pools should be a target for major changes over the next decade. There are novel ways to spread the risks instead of subsidizing them. Subsidies reinforce excessive costs. Competition and the inevitable innovation for efficiency will lead to cost control or reductions that were needed, but which were not addressed by ACA. Too many people in Congress are lacking the knowledge to address these problems… so the HI industry needs to be tasked with finding the solution to the problem.

HI is NOT P&C. While your ideas are good, and should be part of any solution, they are insufficient on their own.

Companies can and do sell across state lines now.

Tort reform only saves 2-3% in premiums.

Tax credits for HSAs only benefit those with enough disposable income to save additional money. There is no benefit to people who are already living paycheck-to-paycheck, which is most of the middle class and lower.

The free market CANNOT solve the issues we have with health care/insurance. They have had the opportunity for decades and failed. When you put profits ahead of people, the people lose.

Maybe we will, maybe we won’t get single payer health care, which is not socialist. (Get a freakin’ education in economics before posting about economic issues) If we do not, and we continue to have the problems we have had for decades, you cannot blame the idea.

Polar, the down vote freaks are out again on our posts. Liberal Progressives just can’t stand the truth on any issue, can they? They would eliminate the first Amendment in a heart beat if they could. Now we know how Ann Coulter feels being threatened with violence if she dare try to speak in Berkely. Hopefully, California will soon secede so we won’t have to worry about them anymore.

@Ron; FINALLY; when you put profits in front of people, they find ways to compete for those profits. When you put politicians in charge of systems they don’t understand and give them the power to TAX to cover their mistakes, rather than hold them accountable, high costs and high taxes and other $#%^& happens…. to the taxpayers…. and to those who have to buy OVERPRICED, SUBSIDIZED-by-TAXES goods and services… in violation of the US Constitution.

What do you think cost more? The Corruption & Incompetence (including the cost of the web site)? The profits that fund medical research?

Me personally, I will gladly fund profits vs dirty politicians. Hell, clean ones too. Any politician.

I thought I was always in their heads. :)

Hey; a question from an associate I thought I’d pass along: If only one were affordable, what health condition do you think TrumpCare should cover; preexisting conditions or Trump Derangement Syndrome? :) I think the latter contributes to much of the increased airline passenger rage and misbehavior, so maybe that should be covered to make the skies more friendly?

@Agent; if you see the pattern of rapid down votes with no verbal replies, you will eventually conclude that those doing so have NO KNOWLEDGE of these complex insurance issues, and can only down vote to try to alleviate their frustration with being out of power in government. Their teachers brainwashed them into thinking they were smarter than Conservatives and that Socialism is nirvana.

They now have to face reality. They don’t have the experience of most people commenting here, so they down vote and move onto another ID to add more down votes, rather than reply to most comments that display knowledge of the issues.

Polar, your first post was not that far off regarding a fix but you’ve gotten into the weeds now. Have to agree with Ron that healthcare is not P&C and really doesn’t and can’t mirror insurance at all (my words not his). We place the same value on all lives, from a medical perspective, regardless of a person’s health condition ,ability to pay and/or their value to others. Totally counter to insurance fundamentals. It’s about the grannies & babies and no one wants to see another person suffer when there is a potential medical solution. Praying that someone will come-up with a great idea but I’m not holding my breath that the health industry CEO’s have an answer that we can afford.

No. Posters need to support opinions, rather than post objections without substance. I see thumbs down immediately after I open comments on an article, without any rebuttal text. I assume you can reply with substance on the TOPIC OF THE ARTICLE. Let’s see you stick to that, rather than side-tracking on personal issues. Give it a try… Ready, steady, … GO!

Please list all of the laws in the Constitution and where I advocated the breaking of said law(s).

What part of, “Now, if you harm another person while engaging in any of those freedoms, or any other not listed, there needs to be consequences.” did you not understand? For clarification, harm can mean physical or financial.

Your headline is wrong. It is the RINO’s that want to repackage Obamacare and just call it something else.

You’ll notice they again left themselves (like the democrats who wrote Obamacare) out of the equation. So, good enough for the little people but not for them….
