We saw it in the previous Republican Bush administration, the total inability to govern and manage the nation. Republican’s gave us a 101% debt increase after being handed a balanced budget by Clinton, a phony WMD War that unnecessarily killed over 4,000 U S service personnel and maimed 10’s of thousands more and disrupted the entire Middle East, and for their final act collapsed the U S economy in the largest economic dislocation, The Republican Great Recession, since The Republican Great Depression. Now in control of the House, Senate, and Presidency, Republicans confirming once again total incompetence and the inability to manage and govern the nation.
Thanks Ron. J Russ’s facts are misleading at best.
In Afghanistan, 3 times as many soldiers died under Obama than under Bush, however Bush has the lead in Iraq. USA was at war for Obama’s entire presidency, more days than any other President ever. Further, Obama bombed 7 countries to Bush’s 4.
Obama increased the debt by almost $10 trillion while Bush increased it by almost $5 trillion.
How do you blame the housing demise and recession on Bush? Name one Bush policy that caused it. The policies that caused it are all traceable back to Clinton and his actions. So was 9/11 for that matter.
In other words, everything J Russ and I said was true.
In case you did not notice, I did not blame anyone. Issues like war, terrorism, debt, tec are way too complex to peg on one person or one party.
All I know is, the Republicans currently have control of all 3 branches and also had it from 2003-07 and what resulted.
If all you can do is find a way to blame all of this country’s messes on one party, especially one which has not had control of all 3 parties at one time for a long time and the other currently does and has very recently, you are the partisan hack.

No, that’s you. I have not seen you blame any particular policy for the housing collapse, I haven’t seen you discuss the debt fights over the years, though you did blame the republicans for the shut down when they tried to cut spending, or other matters similar.

You’re out of your mind! TRUMP hasn’t even been in for 100 days yet, and all you and your Clinton losers want to do is criticize and make up facts. I don’t recall either President Bush being critical of Obama in his early days, unlike Obama bashing TRUMP every chance he gets. Care to let us know what percent Obama increased the debt? Did you complain when Obama lied in a debate about getting the troops out of the Middle East during his first 7 months in office, and then didn’t fulfill? Shut up and give PRESIDENT TRUMP some time. It also takes time trying to fix a big POS like obamacare while battling whiney democrats on almost every appointment and item.
Where in the post was President Trump mentioned and what posted was untrue?
For the Record, President GW Bush has also criticized President Trump.
The debt increased 68%.
Fun fact: The debt increased by over 100% (also known as increasing the debt by more than all previous presidents combined) under only 2 presidents. Care to guess who? Hints: Neither is a democrat and one is the hero of Conservatives.
President Trump set a standard for himself which he is not living up to.
If they were unrealistic based on the current political environment, he should have done some homework before spouting out his promises. In addition, he put himself into this position by criticizing Hillary Clinton for not being able to accomplish anything in her time as a U.S. Senator. Reality is setting in and even he has admitted he thought it would be easier.
Stop making this about anyone but President Trump. He sold to us that he is different, so he will be held to a different standard.
The last 2 sentences of J Russ’s post are directed at PRESIDENT TRUMP.
If the debt was $1 and the next president increased it to $2, that would be a 100% increase. Instead of talking percentage, use dollar figures and let us know who the king of debt increasing is.
How many years was Hilliary a Senator vs. how many years has TRUMP been PRESIDENT?
In his debate against John McCain, Obama stated he would have the troops out of the middle east within 7 months of becoming President. He didn’t do it for 8 years. Got anything to say about that lie? Which is a lie that most likely got him elected.
It is too early to hold TRUMP to any standard. Further, there should be only one standard to hold the President of the USA to, which is to make the USA a great country.
You said, “The last 2 sentences of J Russ’s post are directed at PRESIDENT TRUMP.” fair enough. I will concede that point. However, rational people are seeing a very similar pattern, whether you see it it or not.
I have been one of the few anti-Trump people who was willing to give him a chance, and will continue to show some patience. In addition, I have actually praised some of the things he has done.
What I will not do is give him, or any other politician, a free pass. That is something his supporters seem to be doing by not criticizing anything he has done, not done, or lied about.
I was only answering your question, “Care to let us know what percent Obama increased the debt?” Did you forget about that already?
You asked, “How many years was Hillary a Senator vs. how many years has TRUMP been PRESIDENT?” Does not matter. I stated the reasons why in my previous post. Should we know look at him as just another politician/president? What is the standard?
President Obama lied about getting the troops out of the Middle east in 7 months and he was wrong for making that claim. Anything else?
If you have been paying attention for the past 7+ years, you would already know that I have been a vocal critic of President Obama when warranted.

Simpson-Bowles did not receive the number of votes needed to create a plan. When Simpson-Bowles knew this was going to happen, instead of making it into a plan that would pass they came out early and presented their own plan, which was not a plan passed by the commission. Obama did not ignore their findings, because the commission did not have “findings.” Simpson, Bowles, and people around them who lied and presented them as if they had a plan approved by the committee are the pompous asses. Simpson and Bowles, who went out and made more per speech than most make in a year, so they could argue in favor off cutting Social Security, and were dishonest in those speeches, pretending they had a plan passed by the commission are the pompous asses.
