Re: Obama’s use of EOs: I was against them, too. I never voted for Obama, either, so I am not sure what you are trying to insinuate…
The Legislative branch should be allowed to legislate. When they cannot come to an agreement on which laws to repeal or enact, that does not give the President, regardless of party, the mandate to pass his own laws, right?
Would you be alright with the next president waving a wand to undo all the stuff that Trump is currently breaking? Just go above the heads of congress to do anything he or she wants, right? That is nonsense and you know it.
“I have a pen and a phone.”
“If they bring a knife to a fight, we bring a gun.”
“Hey, we won!”
If the above is too difficult to understand, just remember the phrase “there are 3 branches of Federal Govt…” It gives a clue as to how to circumvent failed legislation like ACA.
Next on the agenda; tax reform for the MIDDLE CLASS, not tax cuts for the rich as Libitteral politicians will repeat ad nauseum over the next few months.
I am not against EOs. I am against BAD DECISIONS that require a POTUS to use an EO that would otherwise fail to support the Will of The People. Good EOs circumvent partisan politics or pork-ulous spending bills required to pass legislation that has the intention of following the Will of The People…. but meandered into pork-ulous spending to sustain itself through the perverted legislative process.
POTUS’s latest act will enable two more of HEALTH CARE SPPECIFICCS to be achieved, albeit in a restrained manner because of the travesty called ACA, the latter of which remains like an albatross around the necks (i.e. on the purses and wallets) of hard-working US citizens.
The two parts of HEALTH CARE SPPECIFICCS in this EO by TrumPresident include HEA – Health Expense Accounts and one other…. stay tuned!
POTUS gains more leverage with this move, as there are more reasons to implement a full repeal now, allowing the free market (both sellers and buyers) to FULLY take advantage of this EO.
Chucky Schmucky Schumer, Pelosi, McCain, Murkowski, and Collins lost almost all of their power in the matter.
I presume these EOs will get challenged in court, since they seem to be all about Trump’s unwillingness to follow a law as passed and implemented.
I cannot see how, for example, any president can effectively pick and choose which laws to follow. It is exactly the same thing as all of the conservatives complaining about Obama doing it for laws he wanted to pick and choose to enforce or throw out.
It causes turmoil to the checks and balances supposedly guaranteed by our government system.
Trump couldn’t wait for a death spiral that wasn’t happening, so of course he tries to create his own. The funniest thing is, whatever happens next he gets to/has to own. It is no longer Obamacare, it’s TrumpCare. If you remove the mechanism which pays for the entire law to exist and function properly, you own what comes next.
He can’t complain, although he definitely will (and frequently), about people rioting in the streets when they get thrown off their coverage or when their premiums skyrocket, since the incompetent GOP congresspeople STILL won’t pass a bill to save their lives.
They talked for years and years about having a plan, well it just may be put up or shut up time.
Every scientific poll I have seen shows more people want Obamacare to remain than they want it repealed, except in the poorest red states, where the populace has been misled into thinking it is some form of socialist takeover of healthcare.
The will of the people only apparently matters in a few select states and only when they always pull that lever for (R)
So above you are whining (wrongly) about circumventing laws, then you cheer unilaterally doing away with a law because they can’t get votes in Congress, and cheer that it will be upheld because Republicans circumvented the Constitutional right of a president to appoint Supreme Court justices, and changed the rules in Congress to force a vote on this candidate.
Just be honest and say you don’t care about laws, rules, norms, etc., and want anything that allows you to pay fewer taxes, and/or hurt poor people and minorities.
Wait a minute…”follow a law as passed and implemented”??? Do you know how many times B.O. used EO’s to implement parts of the ACA? That system is crumbling (as intended). The President is not going to allow this country to go under a one pay system. That’s not what he was elected to do. Big problem with no easy solution.
The past is irrelevant; ACA is going away, either tomorrow or today, regardless of what you do or say.
The Death Spiral is nearly complete. Get your cameras ready for the final plunge, happening soon.

I am still waiting for someone to explain who will regulate this interstate commerce.
There are only 3 choices:
A. Federal regulation
B. States are forced to allow policies that may go against their laws and regulations
C. Unregulated health insurance.
All other options are currently, and have been legal.
Psst; review the Price-Anderson Act, the Patman Act in the 1930’s and THEN McCarran-Ferguson, 1945, aka PL-15, and the necessary changes to PL-15 in 2010 to enable ACA. Then get back to us with your conclusions about the legality of what SOME OF US KNOW is about to be done in several other related steps.
Health Insurance should be the hands of the state. The Fed Govt should have never been involved. Now we have another 30%+ rate hike coming. Who didn’t know that when the govt gets involved, cost just goes up? Crappy Distribution system. Crap policies. Crap customer service with no one to complain to when their system screws up. Not to mention the disruption in the market.
This system is was always be garbage. Far inferior to what it was.
I hope he succeeds in crumbling this awful mess of a healthcare law. I have an Obamacare Bronze plan (because I am legally required to), however, I tell my Doctor I am uninsured because it is cheaper for me to be uninsured. (he gives my 75% off for being uninsured, and Obamacare only covers 60%)
We need to go back to the good ol’ days when we could be denied for ridiculous pre-existing conditions like acne, blow through our limit, and head straight to bankruptcy with the #1 cause being medical bills. Man, those times were great. Maybe we can be so lucky and even have the bottom fall out of to economy, too. Oh, and wars – we need more of those. Hopefully with nukes this time!
You keep ignoring the fact that plans were available for the pre x crowd. Just cause you don’t want to acknowledge them, does not mean they didn’t exist. Didn’t need to screw 90% of people. Now where are we at? Another 30%+ rate hike coming with crap policies & crap networks. Could have helped the 10% out and left the 90% alone.
And how is the war on ISIS coming along? I am seeing reports that’s just about done. The jack ass in N Korea, wouldn’t matter who is in office. He gonna do it anyways.
Check out the rates and coverage options for people with pre-existing conditions before the ACA. If you think 30% rate hikes are egregious, you should have seen what people were paying for heart conditions, bad backs and knees, and even stupid things like acne.
Also, the really bad rate hikes are primarily in states where Republican leadership refused to take an increase in federal spending. Or where they refused to set up their own exchanges. Lately, uncertainty in the marketplace is the driver and scapegoat. Perhaps with this 2-year deal they are talking about, things will level off again. If Dems take back the house, hopefully they can start working with moderate Republicans to fix the broken parts of the ACA and make it better for all. Just like the Heritage Foundation proclaimed it to be when they presented it in 93…

So how do you help the 10% without “screwing” the 90%?
Not that I buy your numbers of 10/90, but for argument’s sake, lets say that is the split of people positively affected and negatively affected by the ACA.
How do you guarantee healthcare access to those that never had it before the ACA in ANY realm of affordability to the “10%” without forcing the “90%” to take on a bigger load?
Who are the 90% getting screwed, by the way? Is it the people who have always been covered through work plans? Is it the uninsured healthy young people who are forced* to get coverage they don’t want? Is it the people with pre-x conditions that you believe had better options for continued care before the ACA?
*nobody is forced to be covered. Any person can opt-out and pay the tax penalty.

Subsidize them, not everyone.

In Il it was called ICHIP. In Wi it was called Badger Care. In Indiana it was Hoosier Care. Subsidize them.
“Who are the 90% getting screwed?”
Everyone that was told they can keep their Doctors and plans. Everyone that needs to go through an expedited appeal that takes 6 months. When I was going through, my expedited appeal for 6 months, they kept telling me that there are so many that this issue happened to that that is as quick as they can get to it. The 26 year olds that are paying the same rates as the 65 year olds. People like me that have to cover maternity again when I am done having babies after I was done paying my own way. Agents like me who has got 25 clients that the networks have their doc in, but not the hospital that the docs have privilege’s at. People like me who have to satisfy their large deductible before the ER Co Pay comes into play. People like me that got victimized by the never ending co pay even after the Out Of Pocket was satisfied. People like me that had my state DOI taken out of the picture for grievances’. People like me that have to talk to someone that can barely speak English when they screw up the policies. Everyone that now accepts blatant lies from our politicians with out being disgusted. And now, everyone getting smacked with another 30%+ rate hike.
I can go on and on. Until you work in the system, you just don’t know the full scope of the head aches. Until the web site changes things for no reason on you personally, you just don’t realize how bad it is.
*nobody is forced to be covered. Any person can opt-out and pay the tax penalty.
True on that point. But the responsible people like me always have carried Health Insurance.
So to sum it up, if you don’t work it or have one of the policies written through it, you just don’t know.
I challenge you to try and go through the certification to sell the crap. Just once. You wont get the full scope of how bad the web site truly is, just a little taste. No way you would accept that crap from any carrier.
Pre ACA, the tech worked just fine between agents and carriers. Now, the carrier cant do anything with out permission from the Market Place. Who in their right mind would have thought putting a middle man in the mx would lower premiums? Make things more efficient? Every Democrat is the right answer. Il politics at its worst.
You’re apparently not paying attention to the facts. Republicans are in Congress and have not repealed ACA, so POTUS is doing so, EO by EO. The Death Spiral was just accelerated by the removal of the UNCONSTITUTIONAL PAYMENTS TO HI cos. in 2010 & thereafter, to provide subsidies. TrumPresident warned of this a few weeks ago, and after the Nat Cat situation was addressed, he signed two EOs to dismantle the disaster called ACA.
Actually, we need to, and are, go(ing) back to the good ole days when people and politicians abided by laws and the US Constitution.
PS Paul Ryan questioned the subsidy payments of about $3B made to insurers by the US Treasury and got no answer on the ILLEGAL, UNCONSTITUTIONAL payments authorized by the Tyrannical, Rogue, Law-breaking, Constitution-trampling, Obama Administration.
MAGA – go back to abiding by the rule of law and the US Constitution.

All this action to destroy ACA (which should be destroyed) yet none of it ends the individual mandate or employer mandate. So millions of American’s and hundreds of thousands of businesses still face penalties and the extreme burden of trying to comply with the law in offering coverage and the reporting that comes along with that. Why does the POTUS not issue a EO ordering the IRS not to charge any penalties to individuals and businesses and ending the requirement for employers to file 1094’s and 1095’s? Do this and ACA is dead instantly.
Hi FFA, hope you are doing well. We are happy that our President is doing the job we elected him to do. The spineless Congress wouldn’t do their job getting rid of the worst legislation in history, so he is doing it for them. By the way, has Illinois declared bankruptcy yet? Close race with Connecticut. Something about run a way graft and corruption and massive Progressive spending seems to be causing trouble.
President Obama used EOs to get things done due to a spineless Congress, now President Trump is doing the same. The common denominator? Republicans holding the majority in Congress.
Thank you for agreeing with me that Republicans have no interest in governing.
Im so fed up with IL. Obama brought Il politics to DC and here we are.
I just wish this health care would get settled once and for all. Worst business decision I ever made was jumping into this crap. Talk about living with regrets. If they aren’t screwing up rates and distribution, they are screwing up networks. As soon as they screw them up, they make the horrible policies OBama rammed down our throats even worse then they were the year before. Before the Er Co Pay kicks in, you now have to satisfy Deductible. Ive got over $8000 unpaid bills sitting on my desk because of the f’d up policies that Obama told everyone they were great. It will eventually bite everyone in the rear end. I long for the Flat $5000 deductible days to come back around. This is was and always be garbage. Screw 90% to accommodate 10%.
On another note, I have all but stopped watching the NFL. Just ruined my escape from my daily life. I gave them a total of 5 minutes last Sunday. They used to get 10 hours on Sunday alone. TV ratings are tanking and the networks are responding. I read that the networks didn’t televise the N A and the announcers didn’t even talk about it. Finally a smart business decision.
**Trump Unveils Full-Bore Obamacare Sabotage. As premiums rise in response to the sabotage, the main public recourse will be to replace the Republican-led government with one capable of passing a workable and humane health care law**. Trump and his party have never been able to figure out a viable alternative to Obamacare. Having failed to repeal and replace the law, they have set out to wreck it. The Trump administration is taking two steps to accomplish this goal. First, it is opening two loopholes to allow healthy people to purchase unregulated insurance, splitting the market and loading more costs onto people with expensive medical needs. Second, it announced tonight it is ending cost-sharing payments to insurers who take on low-income customers. / Both these changes are designed to put pressure on insurers, increasing premiums by an average of 19 percent, and even splitting up the individual insurance markets. Whether they will succeed is yet to be seen. States committed to making Obamacare work will find solutions that keep their markets intact. (Indeed, there has been a marked difference in the premium levels of states that are trying to help cover their citizens and those that aren’t.) / What’s more, by withholding payments promised in law, the administration is exposing itself to a lawsuit it could very well lose. Premiums are going to rise in the meantime, because insurers are subjected to greater uncertainty and the now-demonstrated knowledge that the administration is deliberately sabotaging the law they are operating under./ The exchanges in 2017 had stabilized financially, as insurers found a profitable price point. The Republican Party has, as a matter of theological principle, refused to accept the possibility that Obamacare might succeed at its stated ends. If Obamacare were truly collapsing, sabotage would not be necessary. It is the law’s success, not its failure, that has made Trump so determined to wreck it. / Congress is not going to repeal and replace Obamacare. The Medicaid expansion, which accounts for a majority of the law’s coverage gains, remains in place and is not vulnerable to administrative sabotage. Individual consumers are going to experience a lot of financial pain as a result of Trump’s action
Payments to insurers to subsidize risks are UNCONSTITUTIONAL because Congress NEVER authorized them.
But, don’t let the facts get in the way of your false narrative. Carry on with more amusing posts.
PS ACA was specifically designed to implode, to lead to calls for POTUS Hillary to install a Single Slayer, er, Single Delayer, er, Single Payer HC system.
With obesity rates continuing to grow for adults and children, any changes to healthcare is simply putting a Band-aid on the gaping wound of lack of preventative care. Costs for managing debilitating diseases like diabetes, cancer, and heart disease, are going to continue to increase astronomically every year lowering life expectancy.
Instead of marketing for ACA, they should be marketing to kids and families about how fresh fruits and vegetables should be at least 70% of your regular diet, and implementing programs to combat the brain-washing fast food industry and make these foods more accessible to lower-income families. Exercise is only a viable option once a person’s body has returned to a healthy status. Exercising without a correct diet will not help you lose weight or feel better. Energy is in what you eat.
Want to save money on healthcare? Get people healthy.
Disagree. Healthy people don’t save the healthcare system money. When someone dies, suddenly, at 55 of heart disease or lung cancer, it costs the system much less than paying for their knee replacements, eyelid surgery, medicines, cancer treatments, and dementia when they’ve turned 85. Prolonging lives, which is the primary goal of medicine, is what’s driving healthcare costs. Not trying to say we shouldn’t do it, we should. We’re all going to die from something and our better medicines and advanced treatments are just making the final years of life more expensive.
It’s sad, actually, that you have a good point, but mis-stated the obvious problem. Health care being free enables people to not care about their health, and get fat, etc. Thus, costs rise without incentives to control one’s health insurance premiums – if they’re free or highly subsidized.
Lol, more fake news from the king of fake alternative facts.
There is no way to substantiate your claims that people who live in Universal Healthcare systems will all of a sudden stop caring about their health and get fat.
The USA is 43rd in the world in life expectancy. Guess what the common denominator for countries 1-42 is?
RE: obesity rates, the USA without universal Healthcare is number 1. Will it somehow get worse when people realize they can now get preventative treatment and checkups?
“sure, I’ll have 5 more donuts, after all, I have free health care!”
The notion of that making even the slightest bit of sense is hilarious to me.
Can you state the actual stats to see the variance in the numbers between 1st and 10th and 20th, etc. ?
IF there are .3 year differences, what does that mean to ANYONE with common sense and a rudimentary understanding of statistics and significance of variance, as well as the CV of the distribution?
Hey, look at that, Republican Congresspeople actually did something right for one. They agreed to follow the law and fund subsidies for two years. That should put some stability back in the market.
Lol, keep spinning that narrative. If it were only two, they would never get a deal in place. Not only that, but kudos to the GOP side for being an adult about the situation and funding what was in the law.
If they want to stop funding, then change the law.
And your fearless leader is behind their plan, as well. Hmm, it’s almost like him screwing with people’s health care with no better replacement was a bad idea after all.
Honestly, kudos to Trump for getting the payments straightened out. I believe Obama did what he had to do with an unwilling congress, but, much like Trump’s travel bans, it definitely was not constitutionally sound.
Republicans always grumble about judges “legislating from the bench.”
How about “Legislating from the high chair?”
Par for the course for our Man Child in Chief.
Where was your voice when ‘O’ pulled out his pen and phone over 200 times over 8 years?
Yeah; that ACA thing is loved by ALL Americans right now…. how dare TrumPresident cut it apart, one EO at a time.
I think I’ll write a letter to the White House instructing POTUS on other aspects of ACA that can be dismantled by EO. Gotta go now…
Luckily for you, he can definitely read things written in crayon.

Re-posted reply to DF (no; it’s an abbreviation for Dough Fisher):
You’re apparently not paying attention to the facts. Republicans are in Congress and have not repealed ACA, so POTUS is doing so, EO by EO. The Death Spiral was just accelerated by the removal of the UNCONSTITUTIONAL PAYMENTS TO HI cos. in 2010 & thereafter, to provide subsidies. TrumPresident warned of this a few weeks ago, and after the Nat Cat situation was addressed, he signed two EOs to dismantle the disaster called ACA.

Oh, Insurance Journal, you so crazy!
Yogi’s ramblings get downvoted to obscurity by visitors to the board due to a lack of substance. He reposts the same garbage and instead of deleting his unwanted scrawls, you delete my messages laughing at him.
Way to go on consistent, sensible moderation! lol

Make a Conservative mad by telling them a lie.
Make a Liberal mad by telling them the truth.
Theodore Roosevelt
Make a Moderate mad by nothing getting accomplished because both sides are too extreme.
I’m copywriting this one. LOL!
So, by that token, you must be totally PO’d at Faux Newz.
This isn’t an actual Roosevelt quote. It was created in the 2000’s so mostly uneducated conservatives could post it online.
Literally every single thing I’ve ever seen you post that can be fact checked, including dozens of “quotes” have been wrong.
Say, everybody, have you heard my relevant thoughts responding to the above post? Lol

He’s only gotten started with such actions. Patience.
It should make the Dems happy. Corporate Welfare getting cut off.
LOL!
Hey! Byrned by the liberal media fake news….
PS #2; ever hear of something going on now called a Death Spiral?
Dennis,
Heck of an eloquent reply and well thought out!
You know what they say about pearls before swine though. Didn’t take long for our resident trolls to regurgitate the garbage they hear on TV/radio. X
Amen, I couldn’t agree more. A good motto to live by – if the restaurant has a drive-thru, steer clear!
Actually, two Congressmen agreed on that plan,… which will never fly.
Please list ALL of the names of BOTH House and Senate supporters of the circumvention bill by the two maverick Congressmen.
Ready, steady, … GO!
Note that it is reported that Trump supports it. Tell us why that is the truth, as I am open to discuss the TRUE reason.
@ DF: what’s wrong? Not enough support for a bill to continue subsidies that Republicans opposed for 5 years?
