Independent Insurance Agents of San Antonio will hold its October 16 membership luncheon in a new location—Maggie’s Restaurant, 9715 San Pedro, San Antonio, Texas.
The featured luncheon speaker, Rosemarie Marshall, a vice president at Heath Insurance Brokers will address the state of the surplus lines industry in, “Surplus Lines: What’s Going On.”
The association noted that over the years, the Texas surplus lines industry has grown to serve the second largest market in the U.S., with annual state premiums now exceeding $2.5 billion. Today the nonadmitted market is at work picking up the slack while many of our admitted carriers are busy convalescing. Known as the “safety valve” of the insurance industry, surplus lines companies are reacting to changes in our current climate.
Registration begins at 11:15 a.m. and the program starts at 11:45 a.m. For more information call (210) 828-3425 or e-mail info@iiasanantonio.org.
