Dallas-based Republic group of insurance companies (www.RepubLink.com.) announced that Richard A. Mayer was appointed assistant vice president, Commercial Lines Division. In this position, Mayer will manage Republic’s Commercial Lines underwriting, loss control, marketing and premium audit.
He will report to vice president Jim Drawert.
Mayer joined Utica National Insurance Group in 1977, being named to increasingly responsible positions, most recently, resident vice president of the company’s Southwest regional office.
Richard holds various professional designations, including CPCU, ARM, and CIC, and is active in industry associations, including Insurance Council of Texas, where he currently serves on the Board of Directors and is incoming Chairman.
Founded in 1903, Republic provides personal property and auto insurance for individuals in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and New Mexico and commercial insurance for main-street businesses in Texas and Oklahoma.
