The Texas Department of Insurance scheduled a public hearing on Nov. 13 to consider proposed amendments to rules concerning underwriting based on mold and water-related claims.
According to the TDI announcement, the insurance commissioner will hear testimony on Docket No. 2575, which includes amendments proposed by the Texas Department of Insurance to §21.1007, concerning restrictions on the use of underwriting guidelines based on previous mold damage, mold damage claims, a water damage claim, or appliance-related claims. The amended section is proposed pursuant to the Insurance Code Articles 5.35-4, 21.21-11 and §36.001 and §1958.154 of the Occupations Code.
The hearing will take place at 9:30 a.m. in Hearing Room 100, Hobby Building, 333 Guadalupe in Austin.
