The Republic Group, based in Dallas, announced the appointment of Robert S. Howey as vice president and chief marketing officer. As the senior marketing officer, Howey will manage agency appointments, agency contracts, reinsurance, new product development and will provide specialized support of Republic’s personal lines, commercial lines and specialty business units, assisting these in their marketing programs.
Howey began his insurance career in 1977 with Continental Insurance Company and has held senior management positions with the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, Swiss Re and, most recently, with Quanta Holding, Inc.
Parker W. Rush, Republic’s president and CEO said, “I have known Rob personally for over twenty years and have worked with him extensively over the last several years. He will be an outstanding addition to Republic’s management team”.
Howey is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and lives in Dallas with his family.
Founded in 1903, Republic provides personal property and auto insurance in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and New Mexico, and commercial insurance in Texas and Oklahoma.
