New Day Underwriting Managers LLC, an environmental and construction-related professional liability resource for insurance agents and brokers, announced the appointment of Timothy Squyres as vice president. Based in Houston, Texas, Squyres will offer his expertise to agents and brokers nationwide to help coordinate specialty environmental and construction insurance programs for their clients.
“With his 19 years of underwriting, broker and industry experience, Tim brings to New Day Underwriting a unique perspective on brokers and clients’ insurance needs and a strong commitment to service,” said Timothy Farrell, New Day Underwriting Managers’ vice president of Sales.
“Tim has demonstrated that he is capable of delivering remarkable growth results and nurturing strong broker relationships,” continued Farrell. “Add Tim’s product knowledge to the picture and it is clear that he will play a significant role in helping New Day’s not only meet its aggressive sales goals, but also its pledge to high customer service standards.”
Squyres joins New Day Underwriting from XL Environmental and its predecessor, ECS Inc., where he held the position of regional vice president of Global Sales for seven years. Prior to joining ECS/XL, Squyres worked as a producer for A&A, Willis Corroon Marine and Energy, and a boutique energy agency in Houston, selling all lines of coverages, including environmental, to oil and gas companies and contractors and their downstream suppliers.
Squyres started his career in the insurance industry as a producer/underwriter for a direct writing carrier. Before entering the insurance field in 1986, he worked for six years in the oil and gas industry. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a BBA in Petroleum Land Management.
