Health plan manager and insurance services provider Gilsbar Inc., headquartered in Covington, La., announced the addition of Douglas Layman, chief sales and marketing officer and corporate vice resident. In this newly created position, Layman will oversee health and life sales and marketing initiatives at Gilsbar as part of the overall strategy to manage the increased demand for Gilsbar’s health plan administration services on a national level.
Layman brings to Gilsbar extensive experience as the former CSMO for HCap Strategies, a national benefit administration services company, specializing in consumer driven reimbursement accounts, flexible spending accounts and benefit administration outsourcing. Focusing on relationships with benefit consultants, brokers, and employers, Layman elevated the Wisconsin-based company to industry prominence, establishing partnerships with mid-market clients, as well as a number of Fortune 1000 accounts.
According to Gilsbar’s President and CEO, Hank Miltenberger, “In order to service the needs of an increasingly large client base, we realized that it was important to bring in a sales leader to manage our growth. Doug shares many of Gilsbar’s values, including establishing long-term business relationships. His extensive understanding of health plan clients’ needs and talent for building strategic, client-centric benefit plans, will enhance our services for existing clients, while meeting the demand for Gilsbar’s service in new markets.”
