The Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation will present a one-day educational seminar entitled Train the Trainer, on Dec. 14, 2005, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., in Austin.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. The seminar will take place at the MCC Building, Hill Country Room, 3925 West Braker Lane, Austin, Texas. The cost is $99 per person.
Trainers do not need a degree in education or expertise in the field of training development to be a good trainer. An effective trainer needs the ability to involve participants, understand how adults learn, good communication skills, the ability to give clear instructions, and above all, make the learning experience fun. This course will provide the tools and information for participants to learn the skills of an effective trainer.
This seminar will provide information on the following topics:
–identifying effective leadership skills;
–improving personal presentation skills;
–developing an understanding of the group process;
–practicing communication skills;
–exploring creative methods of delivery; and
–working with problem participants.
