Oklahoma health care providers now have a direct line to the Oklahoma Insurance Department (OID), Insurance Commissioner Kim Holland announced. The new service is being offered so that health care providers have a direct number to call for assistance with their insurance questions.
“We have had great success with our Consumer Assistance Hotline and we would like to expand this to provide an additional service that will address the specific needs of healthcare providers,” Holland said. “So I am pleased to announce a new Medical Provider Hotline.”
The new medical provider hotline number is (405) 521-2993.
The new phone line will be dedicated to providers such as dentists, primary care physicians, hospitals and other medical professionals. The line is intended to expedite the process for those having specific trouble with health insurance claims.
“We know these issues can be complicated and we want to facilitate this process when and where we can,” added Commissioner Holland.
The OID Consumer Assistance Hotline receives more than 50,000 phone calls every year from consumers requesting help with claims or general insurance information. Up to twenty percent of these calls come from medical providers who need assistance processing and finalizing claims for Oklahoma consumers.
