I\’m trying to get all my dwelling & mobile home policies in order. If, there\’s is another catastrophic hurricane, will TWIA adjuster\’s be any faster than any of the other insurance company\’s? So many delays in getting any money from the insurance companys. Hurricane Rita hit Sept 24, 2005, we did not get an adjuster till November 2005. Also how expensive will this be, the replacement cost of my home is $157,000.00?
How much more blood is the Windstorm Association going to suck from us? I just got my renewal and it was $1550. I am on a fixed income and this, combined with my flood insurance, both of which are required by the mortgage company, are over $3,000. I am a retired state employee on a poverty-level income. Is there any way we can appeal or protest these obscene rates? I will probably have to sell my home at a loss.
