New Property and Casualty Insurer Opens in Texas

A new property and casualty insurer, Homeowners of America Insurance Company, announced it has opened in Irving, Texas. Homeowners is a Texas company specializing in protecting residential property for Texans.

After receiving authorization from the Texas Department of Insurance to initiate operations, Spence Tucker, president and chief executive officer said, “Our motto is ‘We won’t rest until we’re the best’.” He added that the company will sell its products through independent agents.

Homeowners’ management team has nearly 100 years of experience in the financial services business, and its systems are based on proprietary Internet technology. Underwriting, inspections and claims are handled by in-house personnel. Every member of management holds a Texas P&C license. Customer service will be supported in English and Spanish.

The company offers HOB, HOA enhanced, HOA, Enhanced Dwelling Form 1 and Dwelling Form 1 coverage. With these products the company will be looking to develop business in population centers throughout the entire state.

    I just checked my personal HO in Jefferson Co. Switching to TWIA increases my annual premium by 25%. The effect on commercial is even worse!
