The Texas Department of Insurance will host two workshops on workers’ compensation health care networks in August in Dallas. A workshop for employers will be held on August 24 and a workshop for health care providers will be held on August 25.
The workshops are offered free of charge. Online registration for both dates is available on the agency Web site at: www.tdi.state.tx.us/company/datacall.html.
Space is limited for these workshops and early registration is encouraged. The workshops are co-sponsored by the North Texas Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and will be held at the Bill J. Priest Campus of El Centro College, Hobitzelle Auditorium, 1402 Corinth Street in Dallas.
Topics for the employer workshop to be presented by TDI staff on August 24 will include the benefits and requirements of networks, how to select a network and return-to-work and safety practices.
Topics for the health care provider workshop on August 25 will include requirements of network participation, Independent Review Organization (IRO) processes, medical billing, medical fee dispute resolution and quality assurance and oversight.
