Dallas-based McQueary Henry Bowles Troy L.L.P. (MHBT) announced the appointment of Bill Henry as a board member of the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce, effective January 2008.
Henry, who is chairman and chief executive officer at MHBT, will serve a three-year term. As a member of the Chamber’s board of directors, Henry and the other board members will be responsible for the management and control of the business and affairs of the Chamber. The board will also exercise all the power that may be exercised or performed by the Chamber under the statutes of the State of Texas, the Chamber’s Articles of Incorporation and its Bylaws.
Henry joins a prominent group of business leaders newly appointed to the Chamber’s board. Others include Baxter Brinkmann, president and CEO, The Brinkmann Corporation; Bruce Church, senior location executive, IBM Corp.; Coley Clark, president and CEO, BancTec Inc.; Phyllis Farragut, CEO, Admiral Communications Inc.; Mark Fewin, senior managing director, CB Richard Ellis; Gail W. Lawrence, president, The Warrior Group; Anne Motsenbocker, president, Chase-Dallas; Peter Riley, managing partner, Thompson & Knight LLP; Bob Shaphard, chairman and CEO, ONCOR; and Mark Speese, chairman and CEO, Rent-A-Center Inc.
MHBT is based in Dallas and also has offices in Fort Worth and Austin, Texas. MHBT and its precursors have offered global insurance and bonds since 1926, and today, the firm offers commercial insurance and risk management services, employee benefits, commercial and construction surety bond services, personal lines insurance and specialized services.
