Melville, New York-based managing general agent, WKF&C Agency Inc., announced it is expanding its nationwide casualty underwriting platform with the opening of a new office in Dallas, Texas.
Industry veteran and Dallas native Rodger Young will serve as president of WKF&C Agency Inc. of Texas and will oversee countrywide casualty underwriting activities. The Dallas office will start initially as a casualty office and expand to other lines in the near future.
In addition, Wilson announced that James Zagorski has joined WKF&C Agency Inc. in New York as senior vice president. Zagorski will assume responsibility for the New York casualty team and work closely with Young to expand the company’s nationwide casualty underwriting presence.
Young’s 27 years of underwriting experience began at Wausau Insurance as a standard market casualty underwriter followed by several years as a casualty facultative underwriter with Swiss Re. In 1989, Young joined Gulf Insurance Company where he managed large casualty accounts and P&C programs on a national basis. Young’s responsibilities included the development and management of MGA programs.
Zagorski started his insurance career in 1972 as a casualty underwriter at St. Paul Fire and Marine in 1972 followed by several years as a casualty facultative underwriter at American Re before joining the Continental Syndicates on the New York Insurance Exchange as Lead Underwriter for two syndicates. In January 1986, Zagorski joined Thomas A Greene as national casualty facultative manager and then joined AON after it acquired Thomas A Green as its casualty facultative brokerage manager.
