Quote of Note
There are still a few missing pieces to the puzzle. With some work over the next years, I think there is going to be a significant improvement in the ability to allow banks to fail.

How much education do you need to be stupid? Where do you think us poor people are suppose to get this extra money. We live south of the Intercoastal in Houma, La. We live mainly on Social Security along with a lot of people we know. Citizens know that there is no other companies writing policies here. And the few that are, we don’t qualify because of the age of our house. I agreee, we are at higher risk of storm damage, but if a named storm damages our home the high deductable kicks in and we get next to nothing. For example, we got $36.36 for our roof damage for Gustav. Why are we being forced to buy more insurance than we can afford? You know that if we drop our insurance we will default on our mortage and lose our home. If a theif breaks in your house, you call the law. But with Citizens, I guess it’s legalized stealing. If you buy a gallon of milk, you get a gallon of milk. But with this insurance company, we are paying for headaches. If we have to depend on the Federal Government to fill in the blank checks from Citizens, why don’t we just start paying Fema instead. But then again, Fema isn’t much better than Citizens with their stupid requirements. It should be the people deciding if they could afford more/higher insurance, not Citizens shoving it down our thoats wheather we like it or not. Citizens can have steak & potatoes while we have hot dogs.
This is one of the biggest scams I have ever wittnessed in my life, the people of the parishes that are affected by this ridiculous insurance rate hike needs to come fourth, standup and be heard. Mr Doneleon holds to his unjust statement that this Louisiana Citizens rate increase is needed and is legal. In days to come Mr Doneleon will soon find out just how legal a 170% percent rate increase is. Mr Doneleon’s feelings toward an increase of this magnitude shows which side of the fence he is on, and its not the people of Louisiana. People are having a tough time just paying the morgage and the electricity in their homes at present, and then getting an insurance rate increase of 170 %percent higher on wind & hail, this is not fair, right or deserved under any circumstances. I believe Mr Doneleon has bit off more than he can chew and backing a insurance rate increase of this amount will only prove a short career as Insurance Commissioner.
Sales of citizens insurance have increased by 37% this last 2 years because NOBODY will issue wind and hail coverage. I found one other company that has more than 10,000 homes insurered and its banned from 17 of the states. But not banned here. A company that gets banned in states is not one i wish to deal with.
