Global Insurance Co. Expands Taxi, Para-Transit Coverage to Texas

Global Liberty Insurance Co. of New York, a specialty underwriter of limousine, executive car service, taxi and para-transit, will start accepting risks in Texas starting in October. The addition of the state represents the company’s continued expansion into new territories and classes of business.

Global, with the support of its affiliated MGA Anchor Group Management, has expanded its operations into Conn., Pa., Va., Dela., Md., D.C., Ga. and Nev. over the past two years. Global/Anchor Group Management provide liability and physical damage coverage for vehicles that range from a single sedan to a special use bus for limits of liability up to $5 million. Business from regional specialty brokers is welcome.

Global Liberty Insurance Co. of New York is a specialist in automobile and general liability insurance for public transportation risks. Targeted classifications include limousine, executive car service, taxis and para-transit operations. Other more traditional classifications involve commercial auto coverage for trucks used in the business of an insured referred to as non-truckers.

Global is now admitted in 13 jurisdictions including its state of domicile, New York. The NYC city, black car and limousine industries represent as much as 50 percent of the premiums written by the company. Over the past three years Global has added 11 new states focusing its efforts on for-hire industry groups. Global also operates in N.J. and Ariz.. The company also plans to expand its more traditional commercial automobile lines of business as it gains a foothold in these more recently added territories.

Anchor Group Management services most of the underwriting, marketing and administrative needs of Global. Both entities operate from their single home office location in Melville, N.Y. All claims management, investigations, legal oversight, field inspections, underwriting, accounting and general administration are handled by the two companies.

Global continues to seek specialty producers for its core lines of business.
