I thought the Stimulus fixed all those infrastructure problems. Oops! No shovel ready jobs created. Sorry, Arkansas. Fix your own bridges.

The stimulus did not fix Arkansas infrastructure problems because it was not big enough! The President decided to wimp out to the GOP and proposed a watered down stimulus rather than the one that was needed. The GOP in congress didn’t even vote for the stimulus that was passed. 40% of it was tax cuts for lower and middle class Americans. Do you even have a clue of what the stimulus was? Are you saying you don’t think the stimulus was big enough? There is no other way to fix crumbling bridges and tunnels than for the government to come up with the money just like the government did in the 50s when the interstate highway system was built.
    What is your solution, genius?
You and other GOP types would never have approved of the stimulus that is needed to fix this country’s aging infrastructure. But you are there with the rest of the idiots in the GOP and Fox and Friends, pointing the finger. GOP = no solutions but plenty of whining.

A watered down Stimulus costing a trillion dollars? I wonder what a $100 Billion of that dedicated to road and bridges would have done for the infrastructure. As it was revealed, this was a political payoff to supporters to maintain expensive union contracts of public unions in city, county, state governments. It was never dedicated to infrastructure repair and your President actually admitted there were no shovel ready jobs created. You Progressive types just added this to the already overwhelming debt of the country and did very little good with the taxpayer money.

Arkansas’ problem is they used the stimulus to reward cronies rather than any serious infrastructure repairs. Lots of roads were resurfaced, even if it wasn’t needed, but serious work like bridges got ignored.

what pisses me the %%$$ off is theres no signs related to the restrictions where the routes spur off from interstates where the best place to alter a route would be. instead they put the warning signs in places that once ya see em, its hard to find a safe turnaround for an 18 wheeler on a shoulderless 2 lane road that is not marked as restricted on any current carrier atlas. its a pure and simple $$$ trap racket the AR DOT has set up. not to mention the pocahontus detour also forces rigs over other weight limited bridges.
