Bill Gates. Warren Buffet. Two of the richest men in the world, insanely anti Republican.
Warren Buffet directly got involved with the Keystone Oil in order to make sure his train track companies could instead transfer it.
A fresh democrat Ohio Senator passed regulations that favored one over the other in the case of UPS and Fed Ex. The lobbyists in the Blue won out in that one.
In Oregon DHT delivery was pushed out of the state, by blue lobbyists.
Building code regulations favoring comcast in Seattle, another blue insanely rich lobbyist action.
bob always wins the internets. i suggest you do not try and have a discussion with him – let alone a debate. he is always right and everyone else is childish and insulting and doesn’t argue properly.
as he demands all the time, we should just apologize to him for anything he feels we did to wrong him. i’ll start. i’m sorry. can we play nice now?
Next week I’m sure you will complain that the GOP is the party of do nothing.
The party of small government is not the party of no government.
You are stating this comment to call them a hypocrite, while I know for a fact you will later on condemn them for trying to stop stimulus or any other inflated government programs. Then they will be destroying the economy. It is you that is the hypocrite. Not the entire republican party.
This law limits the ability of people to organize at a local level and pass ordinances banning activities that negatively affect their community’s quality of life.
The GOP can’t keep claiming to be the party of small government when they go around passing laws protecting business interests at the expense of the people.
So he pushed thru law to stop Cities and their Residents from being able to have control of their own property that they have worked hard for all their lives. Then turns around and says it all about protecting their rights??? Did I read that correctly?
Drilling and O&E Exploration are exclusively regulated by the State. He is protecting the rights of the individual property owners to use their property. Cities and Counties can still pass ordinances on activities that support Drilling and O&E Exploration such as noise, truck size, etc.
For me to purchase Land and the Mineral rights and then for a local ordinance to subsequently pass to deny me to use my land is what?
Your right to use and develop your land ends when doing so causes earthquakes and groundwater contamination for the surrounding area.
People should be perfectly free to petition their city government and pass municipal ordinances banning activities that affect their quality of life.
I can’t count the number of townships in my area that have noise ordinances. Fracking and drilling are much more detrimental activities to the community than some kids blasting rap music next door.
My favorite bit on this particular topic was the oil commission in Nebraska claiming that fracking waste waste water was “perfectly safe” to the community.
So the community brought a glass of fracking waste water in for the councilors to drink.
Yep, good old GOP. The party of small government…
I think that Libertarians would carry that torch more than the GOP.
The GOP is the party of insanely rich lobbyists.
Uh. No.

You’re just plain wrong on this one.

Not surprisingly–they wouldn’t step up.
It almost makes you yearn for the return of Rick Perry…
Uhh, well, no it actually doesn’t…except maybe for that secession idea of his.
Texas, please secede.
What? Texas has laws?
Oh sure it does, like the one that states if a man and a woman get divorced they still get to be brother and sister.
