Walnut flour is MUCH more expensive than regular wheat flour. Can’t imagine the bakery would use it without charging a whole lot more for that fritter and advertising it as such.
Just wondering if the deceased knew that he had an allergy and if he did what action did he take to protect himself. I certainly feel for the family of the deceased but why does someone always have to pay. Even if the doughnut shop use walnut flower one would think that a person with a known nut allergy this severe certainly would have went out of their way to avoid any chance of getting something like this.
Doesn’t necessarily have to be walnut flour, it could have been cross contamination. Could have been walnuts or even walnut dust on the same board that was used to make the fritters.
I am heartbroken for his family. My son has a peanut allergy and we always ask what is in the food. Sometimes employees do not understand how serious it can be for someone who has an allergy.
Thought it might be the donut fried in peanut oil. Walnut Flour????? Who would use that?
Spelled donut wrong. Yeah I know…
FYI, it can be spelled either way – doughnut or donut. Tastes the same though.
Why is this a federal lawsuit?
The dead person was a GA resident and died in a foreign state.. Crossing state lines makes it a federal Bailiwick.
