Vanguard Fire & Casualty Company, of Winter Park, Fla., announced the appointment of Pam Johnson to the position of underwriting supervisor. In this role, she is responsible for the day-to-day functions of the insurance company’s underwriting department, as well as ensuring quality customer service.
Johnson has over 26 years of experience in Florida’s insurance industry and has been serving as an underwriting consultant to Vanguard since May 2002. Prior to joining Vanguard, Johnson served as department manager for Fortune Insurance Company in Jacksonville, Fla. Her responsibilities included supervising the property and auto underwriting departments as well as managing operational functions at the home office and off-site processing centers.
Vanguard Fire & Casualty Company was established in the wake of Hurricane Andrew to provide an additional source of homeowners insurance coverage for Florida residents. Founded in 1998, the company is owned by independent insurance agents.
